Going to keep my BMW forever. I bought it CPOed for $35k too.

35k still get a base Acura TL or TLX?
If so that is my answer. Lord willing I will always have an Acura in my garage. Looks and drives like a nice car. Runs like a Honda.

Yota or Lexus 4ever.
Just sold on their reliability.

I would get a used hybrid car from Enterprise.
something sweet for $30K plus tax and license, and I am under your $35K spending limit.
original warranty still good. under 20K miles.
all work guaranteed, one week to test drive.

Last four cars have been Toyotas. Next will be 4-door, 4x4 Tundra. The only other brands I would ever consider are Lexus or Honda/Acura.

First off, my answer would be totally different if the vehicle didn't have to be new. However, IMO the best car you can get in that price range brand new is a Mustang GT.

Haven't bought anything except for Japanese since I graduated from college in 1983. I've had a Nissan Sentra wagon, a Mazda MX6, a Honda Civic and a Toyota Camry over the last 34 years. All of them had 5-speed manual transmissions until I got the Camry in 2011 to drive around Ruston. It only has 28K miles on it.
Last American car was a 1977 Buick Regal.

I'm talking about US owned company or a foreign owned company
GM makes many of its cars in Mexico. I had a suburban which was the last "American" car I bought. The Silverado is still made in Mexico I believe.
My "foreign" Toyota Sequoia was made in Indiana.

And also, if someone gave you $35k to go buy a new vehicle, what car/truck would you buy? And you can't go over $35k
I would spend 10k on a used vehicle and pocket 25k.
