They just had a major recall, so watch out.

in 5 years, we would more than likely be closer to 80K. I have almost always been against a Dodge/Ram whatever...I'm falling prey to their combination of value pricing and pretty features...

What options are you looking at that the RAM wins so heavily in price? My neighbor just got a loaded SLT GMC for $38k. A similarly optioned (nav, heated/cooled seats, etc) RAM will not be much cheaper, if at all from what I've seen in the market.

2wd Crew Cab, short bed, cloth interior with front buckets...best price I've found around here on GMC is well over 35K, Ram is under 33K.

Do you thinkg there is a realistic chance that I wouldn't be able to get 150K miles out of either of those with minimal headache along the way? Asking seriously-have always been gunshy of dodge/ram, but the last GM I owned, (albeit 12 years ago) had plenty of little stuff screw up.

Also considering new Tacoma, but figured for essentially the same price and gas mileage, why not a full size.

I'm in the market for a new full-size truck and I am getting a GMC Sierra. A coworker asked if I looked at the new Tundras. My face went to the "just smelled cat shite" look. This is the best looking truck on the market

Your GMC Sierra will have more foreign parts and labor put into it than a Toyota Tundra

I don't limit myself either way. I tend to lean towards the foreign vehicles due the warranties and their overall dependability. That, and I don't drive a truck because I don't need a truck.

I'm strongly leaning toward RAM. 100k mile powertrain warranty

I remember my "Lifetime Powertrain Waranty" from Fiat Only cost a small fortune to get me a new engine. That warranty was the lube I needed when I got fricked

Love my Lexus. Last one was BMW. Both were much better than American cars I've owned. Sorry.

I only buy used. Both my vehicles (German and American) are 15 years old now and I plan to replace them this fall with a Chevy Silverado diesel circa 2007, Honda Accord circa 2010.

I don't care where they are built, I look for good used car value.

A GMC is basically a Chevy with a couple more screws. GM products are POS. Go test drive a Ram then get back at me.

I bet you completely understand why people buy 4x4 and never actually use it.

I probably use it 5-6 times a year and live in a place where we get snow/ice every winter so for me it's a must have. I don't understand why someone wouldn't just dish out the extra 6-7k to have it, especially when it carries that value when you sell it back.

Two years ago I was driving down I-20 and the roads had iced over the day before, well my girlfriend at the time and I hit a patch and slid off the road into a muddy as shite ditch. If I didn't have 4x4 there's not telling when I'd have gotten out of there. It's just better to have, IMO, than not to because you don't know when it will come in handy.
