At what age do you let your kids drink and what are the restrictions around it if any?

I do not, but mine are still actual kids. I don’t know how I’d treat it in high school, especially later on.

Depends on the kid.

#1 Wine at age 18
#2 Didn’t care about drinking at all
#3 Wine at age 18, mixed drinks (girly ones, she’s a she, no pics) on vacation

"Promoting" as opposed to allowing them to congregate in your house are two completely different things. Some parents may prefer knowing what their kids are up to rather than have them driving around with other drunk teens.

My parents sure as hell didn't know what I was up to.

If they’re 18, absolutely.

18 should be the legal age for driving, joining the military, buying alcohol, and moving out of mommy and Daddy’s house.

when they start leaving the house in friends cars, you have to expect them to be around alcohol

my parents let my friends and I drink at my house around 15/16. better than us drinking on the levee or somewhere where we werent supposed to be. once we all had fake ids, we drank at my house or someone elses house and then went to the bar. my parents could at least take the keys of anyone that had too many before we left

i started allowing my kids to drink in front of me during our annual beach vacation summer before their senior year.

They do not drink at home, but when we have family gatherings(holidays) and all the cousins are staying over and no driving involved they have access to beer and liquor.

Any parent that doesn’t think their minor kids don’t have access to alcohol is being naive.

My youngest is now 18 and his older brothers are 21 and 24.

I was going into bars at 15 when the legal age was 18. I have a hard time denying my kids the same opportunity.

I preach to them about drinking and driving. I tell/told them I’m not naive about alcohol but if I ever catch them drinking and driving thier cars are mine.
