Do you let your dog eat their vomit?

If it’s inside then I will clean it up because of the smell, and the mess, but if it’s outside, especially now that it’s a little chilly, I’ll let my dogs eat it if they want to. I guess it would really depend on what was in the pile of vomit, and what caused them to regurgitate their food, but today I noticed it was mostly just their normal food from this morning, so I let them have at it. It was probably due to the antibiotic given to one of them from the vet, so I’m not alarmed, but I don’t know for sure if that’s what happened. Would be curious though, mostly out of boredom, how the OT feels about this matter?

Not if I get to it first. Dibs.

My dog eats her own shite, so a little vomit is the least of my worries.

I wouldn’t let my dog eat vomit.

Gross. No.
I mean, she’s quick and a dog so yeah she gets it sometimes before I get there. But if I can stop her, I will.

My dog is crazy and throws up ALL.THE.TIME. He is a rescue and we have had a million tests done. For some reason he loves drinking water and never stops, then realizes he drank too much and vomits.
I definitely now limit his water intake but the minute he throws up, he runs towards it like rare steak.

My thought is when they throw it up because either they ate too fast, or it was something hot, i.e. anything not caused by a sickness of some sort, then it’s just wasteful if they don’t go back for it. They will eat anything and everything. So what if I think the idea is gross, I can still be content with the idea that they don’t seem to mind. As long as they’re healthy I couldn’t give a frick less.

Should I give it some Brawndo?

I usually scoop it up and freeze it.
Pull it out later when he's begging. He thinks he's getting his special treat

I let my dog lick up the baby's vomit. better than a wet paper towel and it saves me money.

depends on how tired I am or how quick she is

I usually wait for my wife to discover it and pretend that I was unaware. If the dog eats it beforehand win/win.

Sometimes I give it to Stapuffmarshy Jr on "accident". He doesn't know any better. Just thinks it's a fruit bar with chunks of fruit. Saves money too.

This. A lot of times the food comes up looking exactly the way it was when I fed it to them. So they're stoked they think they got a 2nd dinner, and I'm just happy the clean-up won't be as hard and I don't have to waste more food for them

If the cat vomits I will call the dog over.
