Do you LA baws love the influx of people caused by Mardi Gras?

Or do you hate it?
I moved to Nashville in ‘02 after college and really loved downtown back then. But now that Nashville attracts so many tourists, they have ruined the honky tonk district, and I hate them for it.
You can’t even go out for a nice meal on weekends without being jostled by a bunch of yankees who love bro country or a dumb drunk bitch wearing a wedding veil.

I'm out there enjoying all the fun, why shouldn't people from around the world?
It'd be pretty boring if no one came.

Don't even care. Only a fool goes downtown during Mardi Gras. Now if they started invading all the best spots then it would be something.

As long as they stay out of my claimed area in the neutral zone.

It makes the party bigger and brings money into the city. Plus for the most part, tourists stick to bourbon street.

You do realize that's why the area where you live is so nice. They pay for your roads and awesome public schools. You may feel like they are a PIA (and they probably are), but they're a necessary evil.

Don't really care, I go fishing or golfing instead of going fight drunk crowds at parades.

Old school Mardi Gras hasn't changed where I am. People in charge try to keep it traditional. The tourists that do participate, usually are in better costume than locals. So doesn't bother me.

I usually visit the Lafayette area the weekend before Mardi Gras and it's good to catch up with everyone that I grew up with but currently lives in other states. I'm guessing it's mostly only New Orleans that attracts the 'tourists'.
