Yes. I do genealogy and have traced both my families back to the 1600-1700s. I found out I'm related to a former coworker this way. My great grandmother and his great grandfather were siblings.

Yeah, we’ve been legitimate for a bunch of generations.

Easy to remember English & Scot surnames.

Mostly English.

The most recent of my ancestors who wasn’t was a Hessian soldier who stayed here after the Revolutionary War.

So I’ve got blood who fought on both sides in that conflict and also in the American Civil War too.

Probably the English Civil War as well.

What? Is this a real question? Are there legitimately people who don't?

Yep, I’ve traced everyone back to the homelands.

I dove really deep into Ancestry and genetic genealogy for about 10 years right after my kids were born. I totally dorked out on this stuff. I could not only tell you their maiden names, I could give birth and death dates/street names/ and how many kids they had and depending upon which, I could provide photographs. Could go back way further than the 'greats'.

Learned some tremendous stories, family coincidences (or is it fate?), and a few historical wonders. I also met some genetic cousins I didn't even know existed and found my adopted mom's biological family.
