Yeh I had some acquaintances that were a couple in college as well where shite would get pretty crazy in public with them. It's certainly not a good sign. Like the post above the guy would just totally go into blocking and get away mode, but the girl knew that he wasn't going to hit her and would go bananas. I hope both of them are ok and not currently dating or around each other lol and God forbid not married.

That is 100% the only reason that guy, or any guy, would ever deal with that.

Call it wrong or whatever you want, but I’m not getting my arse beat by my S/O. You closed fist hit me in the face and all bets are off.

Desperation is a stinky cologne or perfume. If someone is fricked up enough in the head, they'll think that taking abuse is better than being alone.

its like getting a job.

People would rather take shite than having to quit, go out and look for a new one.

The all caps title usually gives it away.

A guy that works at my office has a CDV for hitting his wife. She has 2 CDV's for assaulting him. She even pulled a gun him last year, his son called the cops, and then the guy lied in his police statement to cover it up.

I once knew someone who was beating his liv-in girlfriend. I kicked his arse and left him with a warning not to ever do it again. To my knowledge he never did do it again.

Attorney here. If you know or have reason to know of a pattern of unreported domestic violence, don't admit to it on a message board.

Just for the record, I didn't start this thread as an indirect way to say there is a situation in which I think domestic abuse is taking place. This was related to a conversation that lead to the numbers being checked which lead me to start this thread.

But I was once told by a Justice of Peace (I know their job differs depending on parish, but in my parish, they serve as a go between to the police.

Domestic abuse for example. Some people decide to contact the JOP instead of the police, they then serve as.. I guess a consultant who will then contact the police to have the situation processed (but from what I understand in domestic abuse situations charges are rarely pressed).

When did you start speaking for the OT? With that said, I really don't give a single frick why people on the board hate me. If I did, you think I would still be posting?

The reason I continue posting is because I know people like you need away to feel better about themselves so I provide that opportunity.

No. If someone I did know did physically abuse their wife, then I would in turn physically abuse them

I don’t know anyone anymore

But I’ve known people in the past - it’s a crazy situation - usually the abuser is pretty manipulative and is abusing the person emotionally, mentally, and physically

Buddy of mine from Lacombe used to joke that the official town song was "Love Hurts."
