DO you know anyone.. Or suspects a relationship in which physical abuse could be an issue?

This site shows domestic abuse statistics. I don't know how creditable it is, but it says every 1 out of 4 wives are abused and that 1 out of 9 husbands are abused.

There is more detailed information here, but if one out of every four wives are or have been physically abused then we all likely know a few people who abuses or is/was abused.

I beat the shite out of my girlfriend whenever she undercooks my eggs.

I told her that I'm tired of sloppy, slimey eggs. No other way to reach her.

Like everything else in the world, it all depends on your social circle. Statistics across a general population are not constant among its subgroups.

Attorney here. If you know or have reason to know of a pattern of unreported domestic violence, don't admit to it on a message board.

Haven’t read the link but it depends on the definition of “abused.” I highly doubt 25% of wives in America are being hit.

Just like the stats that paint US college campuses as a modern Nanking.

I'd guess that is much higher but men don't want to admit it, or don't feel comfortable doing so. Most men aren't gonna hit a women and there are women that know that and will hit their S/O.

They weren’t married at the time, but I had a friend couple that were super toxic. There were times when they were drinking that she would literally try and beat the sh*t out of him and he’d just put his arms up to soften the blows and not say anything. And I’m talking violent, screaming banshee of closed fists and nails. It was honestly terrifying to watch. At one point it happened in the car on the way to pick up more beer, and I was sitting in the back seat. Needless to say, I yelled to stop the car and walked back to the house.

We never said anything to the boyfriend, but should have. It was just such a bizarre and frightening thing to witness.
