Was this a thread to make fun of people who drive properly?

I drive 10/2 in traffic and 9/3 open freeway. Mostly because im doing over 75.

Most of the time. Right hand comes off the wheel to shift.

Apparently you've never heard of the technique used by racecar and rally drivers
I have. Apparently you think it is safe to drive the streets around a bunch of morons who are two footing without any regard to rally car racing.

The only time I drive with both hands are when its raining. Or if visibility is extremely low and I am having to be 100% zoned into the road ahead of me. Also when its heavy traffic on the road with alot of cars.

Other than that It's simply uncomfortable to do 24/7.

It's more when the wheel gets jerked.

I had a 1 car accident about 5 years ago in nasty winter weather in PA. I was pushing harder than I should have been but it was late and I just wanted to get to the hotel. I hit either some black ice or snow runoff I missed and after a few milliseconds of correcting, I gathered all was lost. I would up in the snowbank on the side of the interstate but immediately noticed my arms were tightly folded over my chest with tight fists and my head was pressed back into the headrest. I complimented my lizard brain for remembering the proper procedure.

I almost always drive with two hands on the wheel at 9 and 3 with my thumbs resting inside the wheel. It is completely comfortable for me. I do have to remind myself to soften my grip when road/traffic conditions are ramping up the anxiety.

Crashed hard enough to rip seat belt harness bolts through the body of the vehicle. That's 10gs easy. Flipped a few times.

Did the opposite of you

Ripped padding off of steering wheel at 11 and 4.

Thought I had saved it, and the SUV went into a wheelie on one wheel at about 45 in reverse. And then all hell broke loose :lol. Coke cans were exploding inside the vehicle from the impacts.

Crunched a few vertebrae and got coated in glass. All in all, I think I ended up okay.

Wow, someone who understands you don’t have to keep your hand on the shift knob at all times.

Yeah, driving is kind of my thing. A hand on the shifter slows reaction time and lessens steering control.
