Do you get nosebleeds?

I tend to get nosebleeds from time to time but haven't had one in a year probably. Twice today while just sitting down (once while driving) my nose just started gushing blood. So annoying. I have known my wife for 14 years now, and I can say that I have never known her to have a nosebleed. Do some people just get these and some don't? Anybody else deal with this crap?

Don’t think I’ve had one in my life.

Not since I kicked the coke habit, just kidding.
I used to get them all the time in my late teens early twenties. Dr could find no reason other than I used Flonase. He suggested a humidifier at night. I had one that was so bad I coughed up a few clots and was about to go to the ER for the gel foam stuff that stops them. It stopped right as I was getting ready to leave. They magically disappeared one day and I have maybe one a year now.

I usually get a seasonal nosebleed. I have been getting them more lately. Curious if the masks i am wearing are a problem

Sometimes after ripping out a deeply seated really dry booger. Otherwise, no.

Several years ago, for about a week long interval and several times a day, blood would just start pouring out the left side of my nose. I went to the doc and he said I had a blood vessel right near the surface of the skin at the edge of a nostril. Dry humidity may have caused it to bleed. I did nothing to it and it just quit happening.

Used to get them all the time as a kid. Finally had enough of them and had the few weak veins that were the cause of the nose bleeds cauterized.
No more nosebleeds.
No more nosebleeds.

You probably have either a deviated septum with a vessel close to the surface of the cartilage and any light irritant like low humidity, heaters, booger picking and high blood pressure can aggravate your nose vessels. A simple cauterize procedure can fix it.

The masks may be a cause but i’ve been wearing one since April and today is the first nosebleed.

Get your blood pressure checked and stop picking your nose.

I don’t, but I do have a close relative that has a history of them. I have had to take her to the emergency room a couple of times when they were really bad. She seems to have it under control now, but it is eextremely upsetting when it happens.
The doctor has her put Vaseline in her nose every night and flush it with saline spray. She also has to sleep with a humidifier to keep the air in her bedroom from getting too dry.
Fwiw, when you go to the emergency room they will put some nasal spray on a Q-tip and put it in and hold pressure by pinching the nostrils. So I would keep something like Afrin for that.
