I hear ya man, I haven't "been there" the last two days. Just kind of empty. I've felt okay the last few hours, after I went to the gym. Working out and/or exercising always helps me.

I can't imagine what that must have been like, man. It's probably for the best that you're numb instead of homicidal.

Hang in there, everyone is alive.

She knew he was beating her. That whole battered woman/stockholm syndrome. He was supposed to be fishing or camping that weekend. She was going up there to talk to her about what was going on. He came back...bad things happened.

I don't know how accurate my GF's recollection is because of the concussion, but he pushed down the exterior stairs as she ran (I found those blood stains and marks.) She locked herself in her car and called 911. He went back inside and started to tell his wife what "really" happened and how my girlfriend had beaten them both up and was trying to run away.

So cops got there and did the physical examination. My GF had gravel in her palms, a split lip, black eye and a concussion. But no marks on her hands. So they took her to the "emergency" hotel room they reserve for domestic violence victims.

So, her story checks out.

I think I got there about 7am the next morning and cleaned her up.

Long night.

Then to make her weekend halfway tolerable I took her to my version of Hell on Earth....Helen, GA.

If there's one thing in my life that's missing
It's the time that I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear water
It's kind of a special feeling

When you're out on the sea alone
Staring at the full moon, like a lover
Time for a cool change
I know that it's time for a cool change

Birmingham. The day we left I just checked the GPS and saw it was roughly the same amount of time to go through Helen and ATL versus Knoxville. So, I took her to that kitschy Hell and bought her a new dress (with pockets...cause that's a thing now), some fudge, a couple of big arse beers and a candle that turns into lotion (which is now a thing too.)

Oh, that's why I went. I wanted to hurt him, but her step mom said he Father was in his gunroom making making bullets for 24 hours straight...not saying a word.

Wow.

I don't know much about crimes of passion, but I have zero tolerance for woman beaters in general. I don't blame him at all

Apparently, he was an undiagnosed diabetic and his leg and foot are really screwed up...as in becoming necrotic.

You might consider getting him one of these: Medi-Rub Foot Massager.

Sales lady told me 15 minutes on the machines is like walking 3 miles, as far as blood flow to the legs.

You know, there are.... solutions... to the abusive husband problem. Solutions that look like accidents.

Life can be a shite sandwich sometimes. It makes you appreciate the good days more. Remember what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
