Twice for hit & runs that I witnessed.

Friend's parents own a company that has some trucks with the call this # to report unsafe driving. When we were on the road for spring break, we called to report every unsafe driving situation we saw. Wasn't until we made it to FL that we realized we needed to report ourselves a few times.

His parents were obviously pissed. Few years later his dad was laughing about it and told us it took the 3rd call before the receptionist realized who we were and what we were doing.

Not necessarily. I have a heavy foot and drive well in excess of the speed limit and if traffic is in my way, I will dodge in and out of lanes to get around them, if I can do so safely. I'm sure some, including you, would consider this bad driving.

I called in a drunk driver and followed them from Highland/Siegen to Prairieville where an APSO got there just after the driver wrecked in a ditch

Watching this driver cross the median on blind turns on Highland telling the 911 operator "she's going to kill someone..."

It was fricking scary watching this person narrowly miss head-on collisions for 5 miles

Just bad drivers, no. Someone driving as if they might be cracked out or completely wasted weaving heavily into oncoming traffic or dangerously back and forth swerving on the interstate, yep. Twice I’ve made calls before they end up hitting someone.

I don’t generally begrudge speeders or generally aggressive drivers, lest ye be judged. One can be in a hurry and still drive safely.

I have reported frankly impaired drivers.

Had two semis in TX on I-10 just riding side by side, right at the speed limit. They did this for a few miles, seriously backing up traffic behind them.

I called the number on the truck in the left lane. Told the lady at dispatch about it and gave her the truck number. She asked me to hold for a minute and then that truck sped up and GTFO of the way. She then asked if he had moved and thanked me for calling.

This is me. I am not darting and weaving in and out of traffic or cutting people off or anything, and I always use my blinker, but if there is plenty of space to go around you I am going around you.

*LSP or # on the commercial truck. Called one such # in 07, guy was passing on both shoulders of eye ten coming into LC. Told lady what was happening and she said they would electronically shut him down.
LSP act like you’re bothering them most times.

Impaired yes. An idiot like that I just hope he encounters state troopers and that he doesn't kill anyone.

Generally you see people driving like that that aren't in vehicles really capable of handling well enough for the way they're being driven. It's certainly a very dangerous situation.

Despite what you believe this combined with excessive speed is not safe driving. You're putting others at risk and if someone tries to get out of your way when you're changing lanes at high speed you are unsafe.

What you describe as safe driving is actually reckless driving which is not safe.

If it's a driver in a corporate vehicle, I've absolutely done it. If you're gonna drive like an asshat and endanger others while representing who you work for in their vehicle, I'm gonna let your boss know .

I call 911 each time I encounter some a-hole in the left lane, traveling under the speed limit.

Most dangerous fricks on the road.

I was heading to BR from centreville one everning after hunting. Guy passes me hauling arse and weaving all over the road. Saw him almost hit two passing cars head on.

Called him in and saw him get pulled over. I had to stay on the phone until I saw the cop sitting in the trees then tell them I had just passed. Cop came hauling arse around me and pulled the guy over.

La used to have a hotline that you could report littering. You left the date, estimated located and car plate - the state would send them a letter.

Called in 2 different times to 911 and both I believe were warranted. 1 was a man in a gas truck harassing an old man in a Ford ranger. He was trying to get him to pull off into the median by merging into his lane every time the Ford tried to pass him. This was on I-20 around the Cheniere exit. The second time was a lady who looked to be passed out at the wheel, but her autonomic cruise control and lane departure was keeping her semi in the lane at around 45.
