Seriously. Is gambling considered a sin? The Baptist church forbids it right? I would imagine if Baptist forbids it, so does the Pentecostal church.

There are Catholic schools that probably raise half of their money through some form of gambling (especially through bingo), but I am just curious as to how big of a moral issue to some people.

It's sinful that you are allowed to start threads.

I don't consider it a sin. It's basically inverse wealth redistribution. It's awesome.

It's pitiful that you allow me to get to you as much as I obviously do.

Yeah, I'm really torn up about it. Do you never question why everyone shits on you with a terrifying degree of frequency?

Jesus asked his followers to give up their lives and follow him.

Jesus was the OG (original gambler)

I consider giving to the collection plate when it involves a preacher who clearly is a scam artist a sin.

Gambling is at least fun.

Because the Bible talks about craps and video game slots.

Isn't the stock market gambling?

I’m not sure if it’s a sin or not.

But if a gambler can’t control his/her urge to gamble, they need help just like an alcoholic or a gay person.

Baptists definitely state that it's a sin.
Probably the one sin specific to Baptists that makes sense. At least in the totality of it. A little office bet from time to time is fine, but full out gambling will just lead one in to real trouble.

If I cared then I would have stopped posting a long time ago so you are basically just wasting your time.

A sin is defined as an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.

Are you religious? Do you consider gambling to be an immoral act? If you can answer yes to both of these questions then gambling is a sin for you. My answers are both no so gambling is not a sin for me.

I am sure there are people who will argue it isn't, but unless it is completely risk free.. It's gambling and the stock market isn't risk free.. In the slightest.

You can gather all the data possible and make decisions from there, those who know what they are doing will earn a lot of money, but there is always a small percentage of risk.
