When at the camp in North LA we do. Never seen one in around the house or camps in South LA.

the frog pic just gave me flashback nightmare. i'll never forget grabbing my shoes from the garage in second grade and putting them on in the kitchen only to feel a smush at the end of the shoe and dropping it, then seeing the toad jump out. i've had an irrational fear of them ever since. you never see those frickers when you're walking until they jump as the last minute. hate 'em.

Check your gloves too. I was stung by a yellow jacket that had crawled inside the glove.

You know those sock-sized stockings they give you at crappy shoe stores? Grab a pair of those, keep them in your pocket and put them over the opening to your boots. Keeps them covered while also letting air into dry

Great idea, cause I'm not keeping my nasty yard boots inside.

I get bit now and then. Not worth the angst. I used to check.
House is chock full of spiders.
Tarantulas get my attention. Of course brown recluse and black widows abound hereabouts but i dont mind like tarantulas.
I have de-cobweb every two days.
Wtf?!!
House is spidey magnet.

I live on the east end of Slidell, by the Honey Island Swamp. Usually every summer I get a run of Brown Widows - they make erratic webs low to the ground, like under the window sills, around the legs of the bbq pit, etc. This year I killed around 5 or 6 a night every 2-3 nights for about a 2 week period (I posted here with some pics back then). then they were gone. Haven't seen any in a month or two, then all of a sudden I had a web every couple feet and took out 21 in that one night. Most were small this time around, so I obviously missed some egg sacs last kill.

Normally they wouldn't bother me, but my Yorkie likes to hunt for frogs and geckos at night so he's walking rght into the webs. That makes it KIWF time. I use a fireplace lighter to torch them.
