Same. I'm quite capable of having conversations with members of the opposite sex without having to resort to flirting with them. That just sends mixed messages.
It's nice to still feel attractive to women at my age and it's a nice confidence boost.
Coincidently, this has usually lead to them flirting and coming on strong to me. I always tell them I'm married and don't believe in infidelity, and that just makes them try harder.
Wish I would have known this when I was single.

The reason women stay in relationships is fear, not love. Fear that they can do no better than the current man they are with, and if they frick it up and lose him, they will die miserable or alone, because they will not be able to find a man as good as him.
So a woman who fears losing you will do everything she can to make sure you are happy and stay with her.
Flirting obviously shows a lack of respect because it shows she has no fear in losing you. That she doesn't mind if she is crossing boundaries that should be common sense lines not to cross.
If she is flirting with other men it means she thinks she can do better than you, and doesn't respect you, and has probably lost attraction. Probably linked to a dead bedroom and starfish sex.

Seriously though, you said all these things to make it seem like the OT will be wrong if they call you or her something. But, if she's married, she shouldn't be behaving like this. Especially, if she's past a certain age, but it's more about marriage than age.
