One of my grandmothers we called “Grandma”, the other was named Louise and we called her “LouLou”.

Even though one side is from Appalachia, we’re not hillbillies who say Meemaw or Mawmaw.

On my mother's side mamaw and papaw

On my father's side by their first names. I don't know how that got started but they went along with it.

My mother didn't want any cutesy names. She wanted to be called Grandmother so that's what her grandchildren call her. They call my dad by his first name.

Had a mammaw (great) and pawpaw and a Grandaddy and granny. Also have one who just wanted to be called by her first name because she felt to young (51) to be a grandma haha. Imagine the looks we got in the store when 10 year old me was calling my grandmother by her first name without a Mrs. In front of it
