I don't think a spouse should willingly allow themselves to gain weight, let hygiene slip, etc. just because they're married. However, people make a vow to each other, and I don't know how you toss someone you supposedly love aside because their beauty starts to fade with age.

This. All of these "Naples Rich" 55+ women who are fighting age with surgery, just look plastic AND old. Age gracefully, stay in shape and be kind. It looks better on everyone than fighting age with needles and scalpels.

I think a spouse is as obligated to stay in shape as the other spouse is, no more, no less.

I also think it used to be common for men to believe they didnt have to take care of themselves as long as they had money.. i dont believe that’s as prevalent anymore. I know personally that if i just had a fat bankroll, but was an obese mess, i’d be constantly worried about my wife only staying with me for money, and that she would go outside of the marriage for her physical needs.. but i guess some guys are ok with that.

I expect both of us to care how we take care of ourselves.

I may still love your fat arse, just might not be married and living with you.

Long healthy lives...right up until that moron in the douche truck takes you out weaving around in traffic trying to get around the other idiots cruising in the left lane.

I lost a bunch of weight awhile ago and one of the reasons was because I felt my husband deserved a wife in better shape.

Pics?

My facial hair and head turning salt and pepper grey now has concerned me almost zero. I've gotten older. Neither me nor my wife look like we did 15 years ago. She's still beautiful to me.

Damn that sounded cheesier than I meant it to

No, she’s not obligated to keep herself desirable, but she shouldn’t be the least bit surprised when she’s tipping the scales at Tree Fiddy and hubby messes around on her, or at the very least substitutes sex for a very serious porn hub addiction, and then eventually cheats. You can say it’s wrong all you want, but it’s just facts. It’s what happens more often than not.

Nah, I have gray at my temples I occasionally remember to dye at home. I have stayed fit, still have a flat tummy and a four pack. I am not ripped like I was 5 years ago, but that is ok. We are happy just hanging out and enjoying one another. He had stage IV cancer when I met him, and went in to remission. There are more important things...

Your cheesiness was understood and well-received

Nope. If you go from 120 to 220 you have a problem. You’re addicted to sugar and lazy as frick. Not the person I married, divorce biotch!

I do believe you owe it to your spouse and kids to stay in healthy so that yiu can live a long lasting life. Not about being beautiful, but about being the best version of yourself as possible. Each spouse should encourage the other to remember healthy eating, regular exercise, etc. Life gets busy and it gets hard, so Id say you have an obligation to hold your partner accountable moreso.

It's not ok to divorce your partner because they gained weight. You better suck it up and assist them in losing weight.

My wife is very attractive. Good genes. Sometimes bitchy, but I can be an arse so it’s okay.
