Yup. Those guys are working, keeping our economy rolling along.

Yeah. Totally. They just hate when someone is nice and gives them room to merge or flashes them to let them know it's cool to merge.
That's equivalent to a businessman getting pissed that some random citizen opened a door for him.
How dare that citizen do something nice to make the businessmans life easier. Total disrespect.

frick no. I drive all day for work. 18 wheeler drivers are scum who actively try to kill people on the road.

Was speaking about just this yesterday, and yes.
Posted on 12/17/17 at 2:33 pm to TigersSEC2010
I do this for anyone. It's an easy thing to let someone on the road, or simply letting them know they are good to get over. Just a common courtesy.

Yes, unless they are obviously dickheads.

They don't write songs like they used to. Remember that CW McCall song?

I always let them in and try to help them navigate in traffic switching lanes. those rigs take a while to alter course and it drives me frickin nuts when people keep cutting them off instead of let the guy get in the turn lane to free up traffic flow. but noooo, the cut in the turn lane to go around him and cause everyone to slow to a crawl since now he has to damn near come to a complete stop.

Yes, I worked on trucks for a delivery co.pany and its nice when 4-wheelers help you out.

Yes, pretty much always.
They've saved me from enough speeding tickets, it's the least I can do. My Father (who ran the shipping department for a company back in the day) taught me to as a part of learning how to drive.

Yes. For the most part truckers are much better drivers than the average public. After all, they are professional drivers. My neighbor is a long-haul trucker and the stories he tells me makes me shake my head.
I feel bad for truckers because it's hard enough trying to drive a passenger vehicle around here I couldn't imagine having to drive something that large.
I always let them over, I don't hang out in the lane alongside of them and I don't force them to stay in the right lane when there's an on-ramp coming up. Don't be a dick. When you see an on-ramp coming up let them out of the right lane so that those people can merge. If you don't do that when you're on the interstate don't bitch about them not getting over when you're trying to get on the interstate

frick those guys.
99.9% of the food you have consumed in your life has been on an 18 wheeler and 100% of the gasoline you have used has been on an 18 wheeler.
But yeah, frick those guys right.

I always give them the double head light blink to get over

Sure why not. Everything I've ever bought came to where I bought it by a truck driver. From the simplest of groceries, to the lumber for and everything inside my house, even vehicles.
Everything.
Without truckers life would be difficult. JMO

I do. I dip my lights (turn on and off) to signal them to get in front of me.
I also usually yield to them turning or backing up. I sometimes pull a 16 foot trailer and that can be a pain.
The only issue I ever have is when they ride side by side.
I've also noticed there is a clear hierarchy.
People that own the truck always seem to drive better and follow highway rules.
At the bottom would be tanker and skid load drivers. Those guys don't give a F***.

I've honestly, and this may sound dumb. Thought about putting a "go" light or a green light in my front grill.
So often I have someone that wants to get in front of me. I signal, I yield, they don't take the invitation. I accelerate, then they get over, and I have to slow down quick. Happens very often. Be good for a similar situation at stop signs. Surprised cars don't have this.
Another thing I would like, is a roll out inflatable semi-stable air filled tube, that came out of the front and said "stop". I know this sounds crazy. Have you ever pulled out of a parking lot, had to cross two or three lanes of stopped traffic that leaves a hole, but you can't see into the lane you are turning into? Imagine if you could let cars know you are inching across. If someone hits the tube, no harm.
Think "wacky waving inflatable tube man" meets New Years/Birthday roll out party favor.
These two odd ideas would prevent wrecks for sure.

Never. I’ve gotten too many cracked windshields driving behind an 18 wheeler

I always try to be courteous to truckers. A town will shut down within 96 hours if truckers decided to take a brake. I believe a long time ago this happened in Illinois and the whole state went into panic after 72 because gas was gone, shelves were empty, etc.
