Do/would you shop at a salvage grocery store?

I have one in my hometown that I hit up about once per month. Latest haul:

4 packages of Starbucks coffee, different varieties (12 oz) - $2.49 each

3 V8 juice bottles (48 oz) - $1.49 each

3 packages of Jack Links beef jerky - $1 each

2 jars roux mix - $1 each

Pretty light load this time. You just have to pay attention to expiration dates on anything perishable. Some items’ packaging is slightly damaged, but I’ve never had any issues with anything I’ve ever bought from there, and you can save a lot of money.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Don't know of any in my area.

I've been in one a time or two. I could always find something I needed for pennies on the dollar.

I'm pretty sure that I would. People tend to think best by dates and expiration dates are the same thing. Also, many goods and products are fine well after their expiration date. Food doesn't magically become rotten once it turns midnight on its arbitrary expiration date.

I used to go to Hudsons with my Mama; I think it was in Slidell? They had some crazy stuff and we always laughed a lot.

We go to Ollie's every so often. Usually looking for planters, soil, or pet supplies. But they do have a decent selection of junk food that we've gotten on occasion. Loaded up on Harry & David Moose Munch the last time we were there.

I've been to that one before. You can find a bunch of good shite there.

Does Big Lots or Ollies count? If so then yes.

Coffee, V8, and beef jerky? That’s just horrible.

Also, pretty sure no one’s making you eat it, so piss off.

We go to the Bunny Bread discount store all the time. We used to go to the salvage/past best buy date store all the time until about a year ago. We were looking through bins and came across a few packs of completely open hypodermic needles.

Never went back. Cheap beef jerky isn’t worth getting AIDS.

I feel pretty comfortable being able to go to mine without getting AIDS. There is that one fairly attractive cashier, though.

Yes. There is one in Folsom. They have a separate wine/liquor store that I have found some amazing deals.

I actually prefer it to scratch because it’s really tough to screw up.
