I didn't serve and I think you are a total dick wad for posting that! Regardless of the fact that not all of them are exemplary people, they make a commitment to do things that most people are not willing to do for modest pay and a lack of appreciation from assholes like you!

Oh and you do realize we've stopped hundreds and thousands of terrorist plots since 9/11 right?

Whatever you have to tell yourself to not have to examine the realities of our recent conflicts.

That's not why people join up and volunteer to go to war. It's all about the body count and getting it in. I know this first hand. As an ex AH-64 pilot in RC-E once I got those first few engagements it didn't matter I was going to manipulate situations to fit my pre-defined narrative to engage regardless of the circumstances and the JTACs were all for it. It becomes a blood lust. Civilians have no clue what that is what that is why they think we are making sacrifices and should be lauded for being in harms way. Hate to break it to them I've dropped an entire ALP (Afghan Local Police) checkpoint, shot pakmil, and killed civilians and lost zero sleep over it. In fact if placed in the same situation I would do it again.

It's war shite happens and in the hybrid threat environment civilians are indistinguishable from combatants.

Which is? I was always a little too young to really know what was going on.

I do think that they take the whole "Military Discount" a little excessive. We offer a 5% Military Discount on our products (which can range from a $100 service to $30,000 service) and they complain that our Military Discount sucks. Like they are entitled.

Supporting the military has become akin to pressing the like button on facebook. What does that do? How does that help the person?

It isn't for them. It's for you. You thank them to feel good about yourself.

It takes other servicemen to really thank other servicemen.

Thats the point.

There's no way we can understand if we've never served.

Alright, you're confusing the shite out of me. Are you proud of your service, but don't like people thanking you? Is that what you're getting at?

At least you're honest.

Pretty easy, the Cold War. Thank God we had a brilliant president who defeated the enemy without having to fire a single shot. ;)

Nah she would be better suited for the Air Force. She's not a swamp donkey like we had in the Corps.
