In any event, if the thing comes back again, it still doesn’t mean everybody shuts down. Nobody was really even trying before. I think we can handle this thing without shutting down. Handle includes people dying but that’s what happens when a virus spreads.

FIL has CNN in at his camp and they were pushing the AR and others who have opened up are having the second wave. I looked at the numbers and AR has less than 2,200 total positives since the start of this. Such a disingenuous stance

I’m in the I have no idea what will happen but I’m going keep social distancing and wait and see what happens camp. Y’all have fun going to the the crodwded beach, eating out, hosting a block party, etc. no judgment for me, but I’m gonna chill at the house for a few more weeks and see where we are.

I 100% think the virus is real, and I think people calling it a hoax are a bit over the top. I'm still a bit wary to go out, as I don't know how me being slightly asthmatic will handle it. I wouldn't sit in a packed stadium, but I think people should have that choice.

But people get sick. I think it's weird that our mindset has shifted from wiping our nose after interacting with strangers without a worry in the world to protecting our-self to never get sick ever again.

I think the coronavirus is worse than a normal cold, but I also think it's a bit worrisome that we've adopted a mentality that nobody should get an illness.

This pretty much describes my mindset as well. The only issue I have right now is talking sense into my FIL who is squarely in the vulnerable population. He sees everyone picking back up and going out on FB and now he thinks everything is overblown and he can go do those things, too. Won’t listen to his nurse daughter or anyone else with actual medical expertise. Listens to Hannity. That’s my challenge.

Farmers almanac said it would disappear overnight then reappear in 2030 before vanishing again. I’ll go with that.

They could wait til Christmas to open everything & there will still be people sick & dying from corona.
As there will be from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, or drunk drivers.
We didn't purposely destroy our economy for these or SARS, Swine flu, Ebola.

From a literal standpoint it’s mutated hundreds of times. Maybe thousands by now. It’s how they were able to use genetics to trace the spread and what location was the source of initial infection.

But corona viruses mutate at a far lower rate than influenza viruses, so a mutation that causes a big clinical change is unlikely.

We have to open back up.

Most of the ‘stay at home’ orders did exactly what they were supposed to do. Now, everyone just needs to remain smart and those at risk need to be extra precautious.

Think all Covid-19 is bullshite. I've been watching this since early January and the numbers are all inflated BS. I'm not sure what the real game is but it's not really about a dangerous super virus.

My everyday life hasn't changed one bit other than not eating out as much. I never once thought I was putting myself in harm's way. I'm also not in the demographics highly affected by covid. People get sick. The virus isn't going anywhere. I say if you are vulnerable, or just scared, stay at home and/or take extra precautions. Everyone else, live your life.

The opening up doesn’t concern me as much as the idiots. Stay home if you’re sick, wash your hands and keep physical distancing.
Trust business owners to open up wise & prudent - it’s in their best interest, protect those at risk, and keep away from the idiots.
