Do we have a lot of “we’re messing up; second wave coming” people on this board

I’m definitely in the “let’s just open up but smartly” camp, although I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility we get a spike in deaths.

I can't decide if I think there's going to be a big second wave or if there are other factors that will make it pretty much die off.

Or something in between. There's still a ton we don't know.

The point was to have hospitals not be overrun. Now many hospitals are facing bankruptcy. How many lives will losing hospitals cost?

If there is a spike, can we measure it in fewer nurse tik Tok videos?

The only thing I have a strong opinion on is opening up after our shutdown isn’t going to be what causes the 2nd wave.

If a 2nd wave was to ever happen, it would have happened no matter what.

The problem with the rules is they are just there. Walmart was operating at full capacity for a while but salons and other businesses were forced to close. If they made any sense, maybe.

I'm in the camp that we open this shite wide open, protect our vulnerable, use what we've learned, strengthen our immunity and go from here.

Whether or not there is an actual second wave or not is only partially the issue. Because the press is going to give us nonstop examples of how there is a 2nd wave or it is coming.

There will 100% be more deaths.

Virus isn't going anywhere.

Isolate the frail to minimize deaths.

Open shite up.

TBH I'd sit in a packed stadium tomorrow to watch a game. Nothing to fear.

One thing that is annoying with all of the second wave talk is that it’s 100% an attempt to equate this pandemic to 1918 in scope, timeline, and effects rather than judging it on its own merits.

Social media posters LOVE to connect it to backlashes to quarantine back then.

And people like to act like the second wave of a pandemic being the most deadly is an intrinsic trait of infection.

It’s not.

The second wave of Spanish flu was astoundingly lethal compared to the first, but it was due to the virus itself mutating to something far more deadly than the first strain, not because of environmental or social distancing relaxations.

I’m hoping there’s a second wave that gets everyone that was missed in the first wave.

I 100% think the virus is real, and I think people calling it a hoax are a bit over the top. I'm still a bit wary to go out, as I don't know how me being slightly asthmatic will handle it. I wouldn't sit in a packed stadium, but I think people should have that choice.

But people get sick. I think it's weird that our mindset has shifted from wiping our nose after interacting with strangers without a worry in the world to protecting our-self to never get sick ever again.

I think the coronavirus is worse than a normal cold, but I also think it's a bit worrisome that we've adopted a mentality that nobody should get an illness.

We should exile the Stay Home Karens and Just The Flu Kyles to an island and let them fight it out.

Mutation is a big concern. Hasn’t it mutated twice?Anyone know ?

I have been highly confused by all of the info, politics, stats and all of the other bullshite.

Open up.

Those that need to be extra vigilant( me), protect yourself.

You have to be defensive because there are lot of idiots out there.
Some are inconsiderate,most are stupid
