Ok... but the age of consent is an arbitrary number. Do you disagree?

I wouldn't say 18 is 100% arbitrary. Typically, you have completed or are close to completing schooling and can do most all adult things like voting, serving in the military, etc. I see what you are getting at, but clearly the child molestation you have in mind is the one in which the child is not close to being an adult.

True, and why should lawyers be deprived of all that work? gay divorces, gay property settlements, custody battle over bulldogs...

I do believe the liberal media has pushed this agenda much harder than it needed to be. Yet again, they found a solution and then sought out a problem.

Meh, your attitudes right here is an example of why the media has to push it. The overwhelming influence of Christianity on our culture forces people to deny their own orientation, just to be accepted by the public and their families. It's plain sad how many gays have to hide in the closet to avoid being condemned and ostracized by their own parents, siblings and co-workers.

Here is some of what he was saying...

quote:

Ok, bury your head in the sand then. B4U ACT isn't real. They are not in the field that determines what classification it gets.

Richard Kramer is not their Director of Operations. He did not speak at a conference in Baltimore. At that conference that NEVER took place, he never stated that:

Pedophilia (as an “orientation”) is “not a choice”.

Efforts to treat pedophilia are “similar to methods used on homosexuals 50 years ago, and similarly ineffective”

“Minor-Attracted Persons” “do not exhibit narcissism, psychosexual immaturity…psychopathology, neurosis or any personality disorder more than people attracted to adults”.

Dr Fred Berlin of Johns Hopkins DID NOT deliver the key note speech in which he stated "I want to completely support the goal of B4U-Act."

quote:

B4U-ACT Baltimore conference:

Pedophiles are “unfairly stigmatized and demonized” by society.

There was concern about “vice-laden diagnostic criteria” and “cultural baggage of wrongfulness.”

“We are not required to interfere with or inhibit our child’s sexuality.”

“Children are not inherently unable to consent” to sex with an adult.

quote:

the APA in the DMS changes the classification, then call me crazy, but it becomes protected.

SONDA: The Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act, typically known by its acronym "SONDA," prohibits discrimination on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, credit, and the exercise of civil rights.

Most states have these acts.

quote:

How does it protect children to force teenagers and adults into hiding by demonizing and stigmatizing them for feelings they did not choose and they have not acted upon? One survey respondent wrote, “Parents will disown you, teachers will report you, friends will abandon you...people in my situation can't discuss this without serious risk of harassment.”

quote:

Why is it so difficult to distinguish between feelings and behavior? Is it really true that making accurate information and compassionate services available will cause adolescents and adults who are attracted to children to act on their feelings? Is the only way to protect "normal" kids to condemn the "abnormal" ones and incarcerate the over one million American teenage boys and men who are attracted to children or young adolescents?

quote:

That's DOCTORS. Members of the APA. THE PEOPLE WHO SAYS WHAT IS AND IS NOT A SEXUAL ORIENTATION.

Not you, not me, not the government. THE APA!

quote:

Pedophilia is a sexual orientation and unlikely to change

The understanding of pedophilia has evolved over time, so each successive edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has defined this disorder in a slightly different way. The current edition, DSM-IV, categorizes pedophilia as a disorder only if the sexual fantasies or urges involve prepubescent children (defined as 13 or younger

The draft version of DSM-V, now undergoing review, proposes several changes to the diagnosis of pedophilia. One is to expand the definition of this disorder to include hebephilia, an attraction to children who are going through puberty. The hybrid category, pedohebephilia, would consist of the pedophilic type (attracted to prepubescent children, generally younger than 11), the hebephilic type (attracted to pubescent children, usually ages 11 through 14)

Pretty screwed up shite but there are real people, doctors apparently that are making these arguments.

I think most of the gays who think they have to "hide" really are just unaware that nobody else gives a shite about who they are fricking nor do they want to hear about it. The fact they feel they need to "declare" they are this label or that label is what is irritating to people, not the label itself.

It was him and another one called Roger Klarvin. The Roger guy also posted this....

quote:

Generally speaking, it is hypothesized in the scientific community that the biological urges that cause us to be gay, straight or bi are also responsible for attraction to children and adolescents. This will likely become a sound, scientifically understood principle in the next few decades.

What then will people say when scientists begin saying that pedophiles are no different than homosexuals in that both attractions arise from some abnormal process? It will be a very awkward discussion.

and this...

quote:

]Animals yes, but what makes a 14 year old less able to consent than an 18 year old? Our ages of consent are arbitrary and most humans in history were just fine with adults having sex with what we would call children.[/b]

Moreover, are we asking people genuinely attracted to "children" to remain celibate their entire lives? If so, are we not being hypocritical after using that same argument against those who would prevent gay marriage?
To blow this off as an easy "they are sick fricks" issue is intellectually dishonest.

The fact that a couple of idiots on a message board say these things is bad but I can chalk that up to just a couple of idiots. What's disturbing though is they had links showing there are medical professionals who think like they do and are starting to push for "pedo rights" or whatever. I mean, what the frick?!?

I didn't need the media or anyone else to teach me to mind my own business. Only immature people care about what people do in private.

It seems you are the fool.

Here is a link to a 1962 House Hearing regarding communist subversion. Read the entire thing, or perhaps I need to do that for you as well? You can find Senate hearings and other sources to verify ideological subversion during the Cold War. To suggest none of this happened is ludicrous.

LINK

Look it up yourself. You are very ignorant in regards to US Cold War history. The subversion and espionage that went on from both sides is quite unbelievable and quite true.

I asked you to provide proof and you acted like I asked you to record an audio book.
