I would love to see many things change but human nature is what it is. Our time on this earth is limited and I don't want to spend any of mine spinning my wheels.

Just because we can't make things perfect, it doesn't mean that we should give up on making things better. It is the nature of life that the best that can be achieved is a state of sustained improvement without ever reaching ideal.

If by "forefathers" you mean God, then by all means blame God.

I don't give a frick what two adults do sexually - I do care if two adults want to be married in a church in covenant with God. If they want to have a civil ceremony at the courthouse and subject themselves to the marriage tax penalty, then by all means do so. We need the cash to pay for all the other liberal agenda items.

I didn't accept the gay nor will i. I understand that there are fricked up people in the world. I try not to concern myself with them. What I don't understand is why I'm supposed to think 2 dudes plugging each other in the arse is perfectly fine and normal. It's not. It's sick. If you're into that sort of disgusting shite than have at it. Just shut the frick about it.

Though I get tired of the daily media onslaught of all things gay, I never thought it was any of my business (therefore, I wish those who were gay would quit making proclamations of their gayness).

I don't believe we should give up but because people are so different there will never be unity on any topic. I also agree that the best we can hope for is sustained improvement but everyone views improvement differently. One persons improvement is decline to another.

What did you tell her?

That I don't care who anyone CHOOSES to sleep with. She went off that I said it is a choice. I then told her that if I'm wrong and it's naturally occurring it is a birth defect.

I have lots of friends that are gay. I don't judge them, nor look down on them, etc.

However, I firmly believe the Bible and what it says in 1 Corinthians 6:9

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality."

But I believe in gay marriage, equality, etc. We as humans shouldn't have control over who people love, marry, etc. That's where free will comes into play.

So what gives you the right to determine what every religion is forced to believe if you only allow civil vs another religion or maybe even your own church organization from changing their views?

Your fairy tale isn't the only fairy tale out there to read.

I think I understand what your asking...I think.

Actually after reading it, I'm not sure, as its a hell of a run on sentence.

I don't agree with gay marriage in my church. Marriage in the church is a covenant between the man, woman and God. To take a stance otherwise is just foolish in my opinion. There is nothing in scripture to back up your argument. Now if you want to interpret scripture in more of modern day slant then go ahead, as there are plenty of denominations that will welcome you. If the Episcopalians want to do it then go ahead. Civil union is ok with me.

Did you learn that at UC Berkeley? Read some James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and Hamilton. Perhaps you will learn this country was founded on traditional conservative values.

Nah bruh, at that time Conservative values were Tory values. You know, sucking the King's dick, kowtowing to whatever he wanted. Our forefathers would have been liberals, with that freedom of religion BS, no monarchy, individual rights and such. At the time that shite was truly far out. Pretty amazing the run we have had for 230+ years, but the "conservatives" who like ot maintain their power are always bitching.

Back to the OP, here's what you fail to recognize:

Who cares? Seriously. Who. Gives. A. frick. It's not a choice. It's science. No one chooses to be gay.. just like I didn't choose to like pussy. It just happens. Full disclosure: I am a conservative Christian.

Saying that no one chooses to be gay is ignorant and flies in the face of science actually. The most extensive study to be performed to determine if homosexuality is genetic or a product of the environment indicates that only about 33% of men and only 20% of women claiming to be gay are so because of their genetics. The rest have chosen to be gay.

Example: actress Anne Heche went from being straight to choosing to date Ellen to choosing to like men again.
