I miss white neighborhoods in the 80s and 90s.

You didn't realize it but they were. Cronkite was a leftist a-hole. Time magazine and almost every paper was biased to the left.

I miss it a lot
Me too, but it wasn't nearly as idyllic as so many make it out to be.

During the 80s all the Boomer adults were shitting on the present and waxing nostalgic for the 50s and 60s.

This would absolutely need to be set in a shopping mall.

But your post sent me down a rabbit hole this morning and I guess neo-Amish is a legit term for people who eschew technology.

I mean, I prefer neo-Luddite.

Like people who only use pre-millennial tech.

Neo-amish would be more of a community of neo-Luddites.

Living in pre y2k harmony.

It’s all about context. In the context of 2025 it was paradise. Our country still had a homogeneous American culture that the majority of the country was proud of and celebrated.

You and the Big Apple poster must be OT Centrists. Both of you went out of your way to shite on my post and likely the lone downvoter. That's two separate comments from you from my one post.

We get it, you don't like people pushing back on the SJW bullshite now or ever. Here's your attention. Tell your cats I said "hi".

For most people, it was.

Of course they were, but it didn't work. See the 1984 election where even California was red.

Oh, I think "pop" music is always crappy, but it wasn't vulgar, simple, idiotic shite like now.

We did, but there wasn't 24/7 news media nor social media to amplify the gaslighting for the entire day in several platforms. You could easily ignore. Also, it wasn't in commercials nor in our nightly TV viewing.

Meh, I grew up in south louisiana to first generation cajuns. They were not nostalgic of the days where they were treated just as badly by democrats as every other minority. My grandparents didn't learn english until their teens, and they let us know often how great these times were.

I was lucky. I got the full benefit of the 80s. I was born in 71. Graduated HS in 89. I got to experience being a kid in the early 80s and being able to get into bars in the late 80s. What a time!

Same here man. Perfect mix of 70’s and 80’s.
