Pay out pocket
I don’t want govt f’ing with my PCP I’ve been going to for 20 years out of Baton Rouge.
If I was to sign up through the marketplace I would have to get a PCP in the Nola area.
Sorry I thought you were talking about paying insurance directly through provider or through marketplace.

I have an extremely rich friend. Net worth well north of $500M, and I know that he only carries the minimum health insurance and otherwise pays out of pocket for everything.
Sure you do.
Sure he does.
Sure he does.
There about 5,000 people with net worth over $500mm in the US and everyone on the OT knows one.....

Ah. My wife had a business for about a decade. Luckily she can be on my insurance. I work for a health care company and ours is quite reasonable. Like $300 per month for my whole family. At least that's our portion.

That’s awesome. I miss those days of cheap health insurance.
My wife and I both small business people and pay around $800/mt Majority it toward her plan.

My wife works for a small company now. They don't have health insurance through work but the owner gives them $250 per month to get their own. Just about pays for all of ours

1. HSA w/ high deductible for catastrophic care.
2. Executive membership with private PCP that specializes in concierge medicine. Essentially Dr. on demand that ensures your health is maximized for the remainder of your natural life. Extensive blood panels, xrays, scopes, stress tests and everything else to make sure you're in tip-top condition, and nothing dangerous lurks inside.
Bonus* - Use your HSA pretax money to pay the membership fee for the executive membership.

My in laws do, but he made his own wealth after growing up with nothing so I don’t know if he’s the same as generational wealthy people.

With the right disease, they would not be rich for long, so I say they do bother.

Rich people have the most insurances: Health, disability, home, dental, auto, boat, life, malpractice...

The really wealthy people I know have health insurance - those old enough have Medicare, but because of their income pay high premiums for it. Many however, forego the health insurance or Medicare they carry to subscribe to a concierge medical service group where they get very personal medical attention from health professionals at their beck and call.

Rich people don’t get sick, they pay poor folks to do that for them.
