Kinda like getting chased by a monster the victim is running but the monster is cool as ice & only walking & catches the victim has to be that monster stride baw.

Probably not so much in war, but in a one on one scenario, it probably was effective. If nothing more than to distract your opponent, you could buy a few moments to deliver a fatal strike if your opponent was trying to remove a net.

You have to remember as well that Roman gladiatorial bouts were as much about matching styles as matching men. The traditional style vs. style fights were entertaining because they were classic matchups of strength vs. weakness.

Retiarii often fought secutors, and the one of the main characteristics of the secutor was a huge helmet with limited visibility. The retiarius had an advantage when it came to using his net to trip and tangle the secutor.

So it’s not that the net was some sort of awesome weapon. It’s that it was awesome against secutors.

You tell us. Apparently overhyped diseases are have allowed us to give up our rights and shut our entire economy down. We aren’t even addressing the CDC and Media’s manipulation of stats. Governors are deciding what the frick you’re going to do, so yea..... nets probably work on ya too... because we are stupid.

I've been watching a lot of gladiator films/TV shows with the boys. In the "Spartacus" television show, gladiators frequently use nets as a way to attack other gladiators.

You brought the "Covid is a scam" skyscreaming into a thread about nets?

Honestly it might be better than a tazer. If you're fricked up enough tazers don't do shite.

Throw a net on someone fricked up and it's exponentially more effective.

I hope this thread nets the results your looking for.

My first thoughts were of Scooby Doo when they'd have the net on the ground hidden in leaves and it would scoop the victim up and he'd be hanging in a bundle from a branch or something.

The damn dirty apes used a net to capture Charlton Heston, and it was effective.

Dammit Mizz-SEC.
