I know. If there is a hell, which no one alive can prove there is, one does not enter into it for sinning.

Assuming there is a place called hell then I'll assume there is a place called heaven. Since all of this comes from the bible I'm going to assume there was a man called Jesus and he is the son of God.

From that point I will assume his teachings from which we get our moral direction, guidance more detailed than the 10 commandments, is correct.

Now that I've set the stage for those that believe in hell and want to avoid the place I can say this with authority, a Christian will not go to hell for for a sin.

Only the ones who haven't accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. To receive eternal life and avoid hell, one must be reborn spiritually. Hell is eternal death.

So you're saying if somebody steals a meaningless pencil from a person, it isn't any better or worse than if somebody commits a murder? Are you freaking serious?

OT ballers don't get divorced, they got enough cash to make sure that annulment goes through the diocese without a hitch

I'm conflicted. The Bible tells me yes, but I understand most of the interesting people are in Hell and in my experience most divorcees are not the least bit interesting.

Yes, a man and women gets married. All of a sudden the man starts beating the shite out of the woman, always verbally abuses her, doesn't let her out of the house, etc. She gets out one day, goes off to file for divorce and leaves him.. BAM she is going to hell son...

No one knows

However, in terms of Catholic matrimony , if one makes a solemn vow to God, then deliberately breaks it, I'd think there would be some explaining to do

Eta: I'm assuming no annulment here.

This is what happens when you don't have thousands of years and numerous councils to research and decide upon official doctrine. Fly by the seat of your pants biblical interpretations are one of the biggest downfalls of many other forms of Christianity.

You are brilliant in your ignorance and arrogance. And the verse in your link said nothing about one sin being more serious than the other.

I guess your non-seat-of-the-pants-thousands of years and councils allows you to find purgatory in the Bible, too?

Instead of bashing other Christians, you should be more accepting. We are still brothers in Christ, even if we disagree on some points.

An annulment is just something that you buy from a bishop if you have enough money. I knew a wealthy man who bought an annulment from the church for his first marriage which lasted like 15 years and produced several children so that he could marry his second wife in the Catholic church, essentially making bastards of all of his previous children. How corrupt this whole system is is just emblematic of how useless these teachings are.
