Do diabetics have a hard time processing just beer or all alcohol?

Lately, I've had the worst time handling beer after going out. We're talking not much either, just a 20 oz. with food.
But when I've tried hard alcohol like crown royal, jameson, and the like I have not had the trouble processing and sleeping.
Do I have signs of pre-diabetes with this, or is that just something that happens as you age?
This is a question that is hard to search for on google because I get a lot of the easy part of this...diabetics and beer...
Thanks.

Yes.
The alcohol doesn't affect me any different, hangovers are worse though.

Alcohol is alcohol, dipshit. You probably have a gluten allergy like the rest of the queers.

Have you been tested for AIDS?

Just drink a couple 4lokos and see what happens. If you survive, you're probably going to be fine. If you die, you won't have to worry about the consequences. Worth a shot imo.

Go to the doctor and get blood work. If you are fasting your glucose should be around 80.
If it is in the mid 100's or higher, you are probably either diabetic or prediabetic
Another test is to do what pregnant women do to see if they have gestational diabetes.

A coworker told me with his diabetes (not on insulin) that he drinks occasionally and beer will raise his blood sugar while the hard stuff makes it drop.

My Dad was a Type 2 Diabetic. His Doctor told him to switch to Scotch if he were going to drink.Which he drank Bourbon socially.
So he switched.
There was always a bottle of J&B in the liquor closet.
I developed a taste for Scotch myself.

You do realize if you control your diabetes it is quite possible to live to an old age with all fingers and toes intact, dont you?

The crap in the beer is screwing you. Alcohol skips a few steps before finally metabolizing like sugar, so it doesn't exactly follow the same pathways.
Dry wines and spirits do not really raise blood glucose at all - So the doc above advising scotch is correct.
There are studies out there that having one or two drinks a night can be healthy and reduce risks of various diseases.

All I drink is bourbon, no issues here, don’t mix with coke or anything else. And yes, I struggle with weight and sugar issues....
