College is a scam everyone knows that..120 hours for a degree and 80 of those hours are classes you've already taken in high school and electives. And of course you need the new edition book that cost hundreds

Okay, let me start off by saying that I respect teachers. There isn't a more noble profession on this earth.
However, it is not a profession that I want to do. I would rather work a non degree job or put in the effort to get a PhD.
I will admit that going back for a masters degree might not have been the best choice. I am not against doing skilled labor, and the only reason I didn't try for trades was because I wanted to be an engineer.

You need to nut up and find any job. When I graduated from LSU with a chemistry degree, i took a job on 3rd shift as a temporary compounder at a pharmaceutical company.

Volod, look for a gig In the SF bay area. Your BS in physics, combined with your masters in EE will open a few doors a crack out there for you. The fact that you are black will fling them open wide. (Maybe not all, but you just need one good one.)
You will not be able to afford to have a home or apartment out there, even with a roommate. Many people are buying campers and parking them in the parking lot at work. Doing this will allow you to pay off your student loan debt and save for a house.
Sacrificing now will make your future better and brighter. It will also be a good resume filler to do about 3-5 years out there.

They don't have value if you can't show the employer that the skills you developed during your studies can help solve their problems or make them money in some way.

For nursing you used to not even need a bachelor's degree to become a nurse. You could get a nursing diploma or an associate's and still take nursing boards and become an RN. While you can still do that now....more and more hospitals and other places where nurses work are requiring at least a bachelor's to obtain(and in some cases like myself...maintain) employment.
However....I'll be the first to admit that all the stuff I'm doing right now to get my bachelor's....doesn't really change how I currently am as a nurse. If work wasn't footing the bill for most of my education....I would honestly be pissed that I was paying this much money to keep a career I've already been in for over 15 years, learning stuff that will basically just look good on paper and not really change all the vital skills I've learned as a nurse over the years. It's basically a bunch of BS courses where I'm writing papers to make myself sound like I am so much more knowledgeable about the theory behind nursing. I'll just basically be able to add the letters BSN after my name to my id badge when I'm done...and have some extra student loans to pay. I don't even get a raise, I'm just doing this cause I was told we had to have one by 2020 or we no longer had a nursing position at my hospital. Makes the hospitals look better if they can say their nurses all have at least their BSN.

There are some jobs that simply won't consider someone without a college degree. For example, if you want to be an officer in the military you must have a college degree. If you want to be a CPA you must have a college degree. It could be from a shitty school like Southern but so long as you have that degree you're at least eligible for consideration.

Okay guys. All I was trying to say is that regardless of school, a degree can limit your job options to only certain things. Unless you just choose not to mention it.

In general they can get you in the door over someone without one, but experience and knowing what you're doing is what truly counts.

Getting a degree is like having 50 dollars in a store where everything costs 100 dollars. You have to find someone willing to work with you and offer layaway. So there's value, but it's not enough on its own.

Look at the bright side, there's never a negative aspect to using the Kelvin Scale. That's an inherently positive trait

It only limits you in the sense that you were only taught certain things. Those certain things are exactly why someone would want to hire you. In that sense having multiple degrees opens more doors.

Remember this, if school really mattered, why do so many HBCU grads have jobs over smarter students at better schools.
If degree didn't matter, I could find a decent non academic job with just my BS in Physics
