2016 was the first year i made more than my wife since we got married 9 years ago and I didn't mind it at all. There were times when she made 80k more than than me and she paid all the bills.

My wife earns more than me by bout 10K...but, I will be able to retire sooner than her, in about 13 years, where as she has 20 more to go, so it balances out I guess. My money will come with retirement.

Yep. I don't really think about it much, tbh. I make pretty decent coin myself.

When my wife and I were first married, I was back in school and she was working full time. It took a few years to catch up with her but there was never a problem with it.

I make nearly 3 times what my wife does. I'd love to be flip flopped. Right now she's had someone reach out for a new job where she'd make less. She's no the primary bread winner so she can seriously entertain that offer just because it is a less stressful job even if it does make less. I on the other hand, am a slave to my career. Wouldn't give a shite about the insecurity.

My wife makes more than me by a good bit. Everytime I get sad about it, I just go and spend some of her money and I feel better.

If so, how great of a feeling is that for you?

Yep...we moved to KC a year ago this week due to a promotion for her. I quit my job, and now do photography and help with my 4 year old girl. It was difficult adjusting at first, after working in banking industry for over 15 years, but now it is pretty nice.

Wife has made 90-130k more than me for 9 years. Been married 16. I'll never pass her up and completely okay with it.

I'll pass her in salary this year but she'll likely win total comp due to a fat bonus.

I love banging those hidden jewels that work in small town gas stations/smoke shops who are usually late on the rent and at least 2 car payments behind. I prolly will never know this feeling you're talking about.

Technically, on working income, my wife (a nurse) makes more than i do (an appraiser), but I don't work full time unless i want to.

However, that does not include my military retirement, VS disability and the small business I own. All of which she claims isn't "my" income, she considers that "ours" haha

My wife triples me and I have no problem with it. She makes the money and I have the assets so it works great for me

This. I could never be with a girl who had no aspirations for herself and just wanted to stay at home and watch real housewives all day. What a fricking bore

Checking in.

Wife makes 50-80k to the revenue side.

I make 0k but save roughly 25-40k on the expense side so she still out"earns?" me.

Doesnt bother me at all between us. The problem I have is trying to explain to people how I contribute to reducing the expense side. Do and know-nothings cant wrap their brains around a person never needing to contract for outside services for anything outside standard bills like cellphone and internet.
