Leukoplakia (white patch) is rarely cancer and is generally reversible if you stop traumatizing the tissue (e.g. stop dipping for God's sake). Erythroplakia (red patch) has a higher potential to be malignant. You have to go see and ENT or oral surgeon for a good exam and biopsy. Chances are if you just stop your disgusting habit you'll be fine.

This is what made me stop dipping.

Leukoplakia is not cancer, but it is precancerous. I had it from dipping 1 to 2 cans a day for years. Doctor scraped my gums and sent it off to test for cancer - it came back negative and still didn’t scare me enough to quit. Doc put me on Wellbutrin to help with the cravings but that didn’t work. I finally quit cold turkey several years later and it has now been over a decade

You need to quit cold turkey and be done with it. I know it is a bitch of an addiction but others have gone before you. You do not want to die from dipping.

Sounds almost exactly like my younger cousin, except it was cigarettes. Went directly into the marines for 8 years right after HS where he started for 4 years as a tight end. After the marines he went into the gulf for a while, till the wear and tear on his body prevented him from continuing (botched parachute landing years before had an effect). Said everyone was into a type of tobacco product that it was just unavoidable, but that was the culture in the 90s and 2000s.

As a young kid, I stole and smoked a full cigar. That experience permanently turned me off of tobacco forever.

Instead of spitting, try swallowing for a day. You wont be able to even smell that nasty stuff again.

OR

Read Allen Carr's 'Easy Way To Stop Smoking'. That book has helped millions of people quit tobacco, including me.

I called my primary care MD and she’s not taking in-house visits because of Covid. The appointment has to be either Zoom or by phone. I don’t have a personal computer so zoom is out of the question. So this next Tuesday I have my call in appointment with her. Then she has to find me an oral surgeon MD that will except my deadbeat Medicaid insurance. I’m not like you 0T Ballers they can just do shite right off the bat.

Don't worry baw. A little modern medicine and you can have a reconstructed jaw with a little bit of one of your leg bones if it comes to that.

It ain't even cancer. It's white spots on the inside of his mouth that have the potential to develop into cancer. I think I'd strongly consider quitting dipping, were I him.

I know Pelican that you didn’t read the entire thread and that’s cool but you missed the part about me being on deadbeat Medicaid. I’m issued only one “primary care doctor” and I’m at her total mercy. I understand that you don’t know anything about that kind of life so I don’t mind having to explain it to you. I am just happy that I have this free insurance to be honest with you. The only reason why I qualify for it as a white single male is because of a reason I’d rather not discuss. My candor is only so much that I can handle admitting buddy.

Oral cavity leukoplakia can be a real bitch to treat. It’s not a foregone conclusion to say it’ll become cancer but it’s far enough down the road that you should def stop the dip right now.

That being said, most things in the mouth are not actually leukoplakia. Give it about six weeks after stopping the dip and if it fails to resolve you need it biopsied and excised if it’s truly leukoplakia.

Consider this a warning because the last thing you want is oral cancer

Of course I’m not in anyway saying I want oral cancer but it can’t be that bad of a death. I’ve done online research about dying of mouth cancer and it’ll just rapidly spread to my throat, lungs, or brain. I’ll just go out of this evil world with a morphine drip in my arm and a Bible in my hand. Also before you judge me, I’m single with no children so it’s not like I’m abandoning any innocent children. Nobody will miss a beat if I perish, not a one. Well there’ll be one less sidewalk Bama fan. Wow big deal.
