The water didn’t dry. It evaporated into moisture into the air. Instead of making the ground wet, it makes the atmosphere wet via humidity.

So, like I said. How do you dry water?

Except water is wet, simply by the definition of wet. water covers itself, and saturates itself. It's exactly that simple.

Sure Fire is not heat, but it does produce heat, and it is an integral component of fire. This is not relevant to the water discussion.

If fire was heat, how do you explain heat without fire?

Friction produces heat and heat produces fire. But fire can also produce heat, meaning fire and heat are two independent variables. whereas water and wet are not independent of each other and your analogy fails.

Wrong.

Sure it is. Fire isn’t heat just like water isn’t wet. Sorry you can’t grasp a simple concept. Even the definition of wet goes against you.

If wetness is covered or saturated in water, then one would uncover or unsaturate water to consider it dry. IE with heat, mechanical forces, etc. Removal/isolation of water from water is how you dry water.

Something can be wet without water. If I pour milk on something, it’s still wet

Terrible analogy.

The snail is slimy because its covered in slime.

First of all I agree that things can be wet without water, any liquids will suffice.
But again im amazed by your awful logic... you don't think there is water in milk?

This is exactly a perfect analogy for why water is wet.

This is where it starts to fall apart because basically every liquid contains some amount of water.

Oil would be a better example than milk, but then you would be oily instead of wet.

So water is wet because it's covered with wet? Because that's the analogy you're trying to make

Per, Webster:
quote:

1a : consisting of, containing, covered with, or soaked with liquid (such as water)

Webster is pretty clear on the definition of wet. Something consisting of, containing, saturated with, or touching a liquid is wet.

If slime makes a snail slimey, the snail is covered in slime so its slimey.

if water makes something wet, then things that are covered in water are wet (water covers itself).

For the definition argument, water is wet when used as a noun.

quote:

wet
noun

1. liquid that makes something damp.

And Oxford says different.

1Covered or saturated with water or another liquid. ‘she followed, slipping on the wet rock’ More example sentencesSynonyms
