This thread gives credence to all the gay jokes

23 years in the Air Force. Cousins did Army and Marines. Heard many "Chair Force" jokes and have given many "sorry you weren't smart enough for my branch" responses. We've done this in many places...but the moment a civilian chimes in...we all stop. You don't get to make fun of one of us unless you are one of us. Less than 1% will put on the uniform. We can bag on each other in a brotherly way...no one who is not a brother can bag on my brothers (brothers also mean chicks who served too).

This.
In the army it even goes to the Combat Arms MOS level. Grunts call us tankers “DAT” (dumb arse tanker) and we call grunts “speed bumps.” And we both make fun of cav troopers for being gay.

Why is it acceptable to degrade individual branches of the Military
Its called freedom.
Perhaps you should move to the UK where they are jailing people for memes.

My problem is with people who have never worn the uniform feeling entitled to put down on different branches.
Well if you have never played any sport you better never criticize any of the players or coaches?
If this offends you i will let you hit me with your purse.

A Navy vet friend of mine’s son joined the Marines a few years ago. When he graduated basic training his dad threw him a coming home party at the VFW. I, and several others, gave him a box of crayons for a graduation gift. I think he got about 6 or 7 boxes of crayons all together. We all had a laugh then grabbed another beer.

My wife's family is all Army, but her dad flew choppers in Vietnam.
My family is mostly Navy, but one of my siblings is Air Force and her son is a fighter pilot for them as well.
Army-Navy games are fun within our household, but everybody shits on the Air Force (especially after Navy beat dat arse this year...awesome game btw)

Yes they can. We have freedoms for a reason.
I also don't make fun of any branches but I might start with this massive pussy.

A good friend of mine was Army for 8 years. Now his son is in the Naval Academy. I’m not sure who he’ll pull for in the Army/Navy game.

Same in the Air Force. Those who fly are pitted against those who don't. Those who fly combat against those who don't. Bomber dudes versus fighter dudes...even navs versus pilots. It's all good fun

Frat behavior.
Perhaps, but it's the best damn frat I've ever known of, and for this guy it lasted nearly 24 years.
It ends for me in May...bantering with the bros (and broettes who are also bros) will be the part I think I'll miss the most.

You're not allowed to tell people you were in the navy ever again. I talked to some shipmates and we revoked any and all claims you had and all naval privileges. And to the bubble head calling surface fleet gay bruh yall share racks. Possibly the gayest of gay service members are the bubble heads and im including puddle pirates.

An enjoyable career is something everyone should strive for. You're one of lucky ones.

I retired from the Army in 2012 with 20 years in. I loved my time in and got to travel a lot. But I don’t miss the Army BS at all. But I do miss the camaraderie and people. I’ve been pretty successful in civilian life since I retired and didn’t really have a hard time transferring to civilian life. But things are just different now. Civilians have a completely different mindset.
