Actually Genie being played by a fuller set black man seems to be standard type cast for Genie in the play version. So it might have played a part in him getting the role.

This I agree with, it's a better direction than picking Emma Watson because she is Hermione and will put people in the seats cause of her Harry Potter association and not having a singing voice for a singing part.

Also, the head of Disney has no say in casting. The Director of the film has already come out and said that this particular actress stood out from the beginning. Also, she’s a singer so you can go and look up her talents, but I’m sure you’ll find something wrong with her singing.

I just went back and reread it, I replied to the parts that I felt needed a response. I never pulled the race card but you guys acting like this chick only got the role because she’s black and not on merit is a bit absurd.
