I've got a Whirlpool going on 19 years. Might consider that. Averages about 5 loads a week

My dishwasher takes 2 loads a day. She is fantastic

Buy the quietest one you can find. Nothing else matters.

Do y’all run the dishes and sit in there to listen to it? I turn mine on before bed and it never bothers me. And it was a fairly cheap one, so not quiet at all. I just wish they would dry better. Back in the day it would get so hot in one that plastic would melt on the bottom rack. These days your lucky if the big plates and silverware right next to the element are dry.

My house is open floor plan. The damned kitchen in in the center of the house. It looks great and works well for socializing. It sucks if you like quiet.

unfortunately, Whirlpool quality has gone down in that period. Still good but not nearly as great. Used to be my go to Appliance maker.

With bosch you use the jet dry periodically if the dishes remain wet

We have a Bosch as well.

You may have to (gasp!) dry off some of the dishes, but man it's quiet.
