Exactly, not sure why people automatically assume cops are wrong in every situation. If the lady called and said "there's a guy sitting on a park bench with a gun holstered" "is he doing anything with it?" "no, he's just sitting there"...I'm quite certain the movie-style dramatics the OP described (which honestly sounds a bit exaggerated as well) wouldn't have happened.

It takes 4 pineville cops to write a stop sign ticket. Srsly. They are one reason I avoid pineville unless I absolutely have to be there.

How is a water park any different than a movie theater where there have been mass shootings, a college campus, or a holiday work party in San Bernardino? I commend anyone who CC or OCs in public places like this.

Pretty simple really. You have a right to open carry in the state of Louisiana. If a business owner asks you to leave a private business, then you gotta leave. You do not have to leave a public area where it is COMPLETELY legal to open carry because some fricking soccer mom is "uncomfortable". People don't have a right to not be offended.

And pineville cops, usually, suck more then regular cops. If you have no experience with them it's kinda hard to understand. I fully believe that they would storm in with guns out for something as harmless as a pop tart gun.

I live in Pineville. Don't know any cops there personally but as soon as they heard gun they were likely fighting each other to get there first. Any small fender bender in pville or Alexandria typically draws 4-5 cop cars and several fire trucks. Usually 9/10 are standing around BSing while one does the work.
I love CenLA because it's quiet but the down side is any time anything remotely interesting happens it draws everyone like a moth to a flame. I don't blame the cops for reacting quickly but they sounded a little aggressive to throw the people out.
