Think they trying to mitigate teens making fake profiles with fake ages in order to use Tinder. This is their effort to fix the problem on a legal standpoint.

Idk, but I'm guessing Tinder legal team probably suggested it a best course of action considering that they're going to get on anyways. Just put a barrier for those claiming under 18 to have it appear that Tinder is being proactive against child sex Trafficking.
