I've never been an a-hole to them on the phone and I've never been denied some form of promotional discount

I My bill is $105 and I have Xtra, but have all the premiums on a discount for $23/month.
Granted I also have Sunday Ticket Max for free but still...
I've got a genie DVR and 2 genie minis.

My bill was only 100 last month because I had a 40 dollar credit for canceling Sunday Ticket after it auto renewed

I'm sure I'm not the best negotiator and someone will tell us how they have 7 receivers with every channel for 80 bucks or something
I just check every couple of months on my statement to see when my existing promotions expire and call and ask for them to be renewed.

I just called and cancelled Sunday ticket from auto renewing, they offered 20% off and a 5 dollar credit per month. Da frick is that shite!

Called DirecTV last week- Told CSR I wanted to set up a cancellation date in two weeks and she asked why- told her bill was too high and was switching to Dish, who had a great new customer offer. She bent over backwards giving me all the discounts I was eligible for, after five minutes she came back with discounts of:
- $9 month for six months
- $5 month for six months
- $8 month for 12 months
- $5 month for 12 months
- $10 month for 12 months
$360 in total discounts
She then transferred me over to another department where the CSR wouldn't budge on the Sunday Ticket. Told him I got it free the past four years or so and he said they couldn't do anything. Told him to cancel my service and he pointed out the discounts the previous CSR gave me and I said the Dish promo still beat it. He offered to knock $120 off my bill for a year for the Advanced HD Service I have currently and then said he could charge me half-price for the Sunday Ticket ($120), so they basically canceled each other out. I accepted that offer, the call took almost 11 minutes. It looks like they are digging in on giving the Sunday Ticket for free this year but will make it up in the form of other discounts. For the record, I have the XTRA package ($77.99/mo.) with HBO ($10.99/mo.) and I was no longer under contract and I had to agree to a one-year extension.
