Oh, we are still going out on our date nights but one of us has to define exactly where we are going to eat otherwise she is 100% fine with making an awesome meal at home while catching up on our shows.

I shite you not, the pretzel and drink stand at an astros game asked for a tip when I swiped my card, I’m not against tipping but that is pushing the limit right there

Back of house doesn't get any money from the communal tips and are rarely if ever given a direct tip. I only got a tip one time when working the grill.

Frick Subway. They act like I asked them to double the meat for free when I ask for more tomatoes and pickles. Money is better spent at Jimmy John's, Lenny's, Jersey Mike's, and if you're OT ballin', Cheba Hut.

Maybe the owner should pay them what they’re worth. Yes, it might lead to higher prices on food, but if we’re already being ethically and morally challenged to “add a tip,” might as well just make it part of the actual price.

We’ve seen examples of this happening where the public still expresses their outrage that management does not allow tipping to reward excellent services above standard wages. The owners may still allow it, but people are always looking for something new to rage about.

“Leaving a ten per cent tip for to go orders seems fair to me.”

Tips don’t go to the cook.

I bought my kid a $5 Icee at the pretzel stand at the mall and the pay screen asked for a tip. Absurd.

The first was a regular place we go so we will return. May be a new server.

Second was our first time there, it is expensive, and the owners were front of house. We will not return. Made us miss Randazzos (it was a small old house restaurant owned by a couple)

When I go to Petco, first thing that pops up is if I like to make a donation. This after asking me if I want a bag for 10 cents.

I only leave cash tips. If the host/hostess don’t split it with the cooks shame on them.

That is pretty cheap price for weed, is a nickel bag or a dime bag?

ETA: if you want to tip 10% on take out, go ahead. My main issue is the spread of "would you like to add a tip" to fast food joints

I seldom use a credit card for tips, people like that better.

Shoving the display or credit card machine asking for a tip in your face every time you pick up a to-go order can have a negative impact on people.

I frequent a mexican place in BR and know the bartenders well.... They told me that they can't see the tip amounts on their side, so don't feel bad if you choose not to tip or leave a small tip.

Tipping is supposed to be for those that don't make minimum wage but rely on the tips to get to minimum wage and possibly make more.

I get coffee beans from a local coffee roaster, and i'm always prompted to tip for buying pre-packaged beans? No. Even if they make me a coffee, they aren't wait staff. It is YOUR JOB to make the coffee.

Baristas are, in general, a very entitled group.
