Did your family have a Trivial Pursuit in the house growing up?

When the original genus edition came out in 81, I think 9 of 10 homes I went to eventually had one.
As kids, it was a lot of fun when several couples with kids got together for TP night. Food, booze, laughs, arguments. The works. Was a blast. Anyone else?

It's my favorite game. There was an online version in the late 90s that was a blast. The only downside is that you eventually run out of questions on online versions.

No, because we're not liberals. Monopoly was our go-to.

I was recently thinking about how my family played this for several years when we got together for the holidays. Really enjoyed it!

<----Owned* Trivial Pursuit
Except for the "Gay Baseball" shite: "What Tony-award winning play starred Mary Martin as a reptile?"

Absolutely. I still have a 1996 Genus IV version at home... I wonder what percentage of questions are now incorrect because they're out of date?

I’ve almost memorized that edition.
I’m a bastard on that one.

After the roll of the die to determine who would go first, my father would move to the seat at the table that was the last position. He always said he wanted to give all of us a chance.
He didn't always win on his first roll, but it was rare for him to go beyond a few.

During the initial release timeframe, it was pretty hilarious to see the reactions of the adults who didn't know as much as they thought they did. That led to dad's everywhere having a box by their toilet or recliner studying the cards

I had a friend and wife who would look up all the answers and then play everyone later. We knew they were cheating b/c they knew all the answers.

Yes. Played it all the time . Loved that game . Not sure kids/young adults know enough or care enough for it to be fun today though

I’m jealous of families that did this
Would’ve been a blast as a family to play

Trivial Pursuit was a great game. My family tended to play Facts in Five more than any other game though. Still love that one.
