ETA: My bad, 5 dollars a mile, that's $17,000. I would probably still do it.

only ~100 private cars in operation in the US, they are extremely expensive (~$300k+) + Amtrak charges ~$5/mile.

Expensive? Costs much less than my jet.

Right. So plane or train, it all depends if you want to be across the country in six hours or six days. I don't see how traveling by private train car is any more expensive than tooling around in the Madden Cruiser.

Bill Gates rented an entire passenger train once. Travelled all over the western part of the US.

Was not an Amtrak train btw. He chartered the entire thing and paid the railroads to run it.

Something... something... something... obscene, excessive profits... mumble.. mumble...

Strange that Uncle Joe hasn't mentioned this when berating the petroleum companies about profits. I thought he knew a lot about trains after having collected over a million miles of train travel between DC and Delaware/NJ.

Where does one go to buy/order a train car? Asking for a friend.

Are you allowed to sleep in it when it’s parked? Like could it potentially just be your permanent house?

I saw that video of the old lady that just lives on a cruise ship.

Yes I know. I left as soon as I turned 60. Wasn't sticking around and put up with that bs.
