Did you ever lose someone that you thought would be your wife?

And what happened after? How soon after did you meet your actual S/O?
I’m not in this position, just like hearing the stories

I’m not in that situation.
Just wanted to hear some stories.

Lose as in broke up or lose as in passed away? If the later, then yes. You ok?

That is a strange question and makes you sound desperate and heartbroken. I have had several 5 year relationships, never wanted to be officially married. But, own a house with my current. How long between? Not very. But I am a chick

Best thing that ever happened to me is divorcing my 1st wife...met the woman of my dreams and we have wonderful children in college and could not ask for more.

The first one yeah, she was killed at 20. I've never been the same since that happened, but the person I'm with now is the only girl I really want to be with. Took me a long time.

Jesus, are YOU okay? That sounds like it fricking sucks.
I just love hearing people’s stories. It’s interesting to me.

Yeah I was engaged to a girl that I never married. My drinking at the time probably had a lot to do with it. I probably dodged a bullet though. She was a good person but a bit too high maintenance for me.
I didn't want to date anyone seriously for a few years. Just partied a lot and enjoyed being single.
Met my wife maybe 2-3 years later.

I dated someone for 10 years starting in high school. Always figured we’d get married and we were best friends, but somewhere along the way I realized we had become roommates and there wasn’t a lot of romantic love there. One day it occurred to me that I was happiest when she wasn’t home and I kinda dreaded hearing her car pull up. We grew apart, different goals, different outlooks etc.
Dating again was a challenge because obviously I didn’t have to practice my “game” for 10 years when most guys are honing it (college, early adulthood). Met someone through work pretty soon after the breakup and developed a closeness. She and I won’t get married, she’s not “the one”, but it’s good for now. We’ve been together about 2 years.

I had a gf who died when I was 19 but I always knew it wasn’t going to last that long for a certain reason. A year later I met a girl who became my wife and she had a lot of qualities and features that she had.

I thought I’d marry my college gf. Until she fricked my cousin.

Thanks for the post Mrs Rammin. Now give the phone back to your husband that cheats on you.

I eventually moved on, but I've never forgotten her and I'm sure I never will. My wife knows about her but doesn't know I'm still carrying a little torch.

I’m not judging you, but man I’d be sick knowing my spouse still had feelings for someone else.
I couldn’t ever be ok with being second place. Knowing that if her ex walked in the door, I’d be kicked to the curb.

My dear friend, extinguish the torch of yesterday and let your only light cast its love so intensely on your Beloved wife that no other light can exist.

I lost 3 wives. Afterwards, I took a severe financial loss. Still paying my most recent ex wife. My advice is get a dog and use condoms.

I met her after banging you mom for several years. She liked it, I was just getting my rocks off until I found a worthwhile female.
Do you know your Dad?
