Never called one. I did get the "Bagpipe report" email daily in the mid 90's for free. I had no clue who Dave meltzer or any other dirtsheet writers were at the time. I do remember looking up Bob Ryder's number in the BR phonebook and almost called him once.

No but I remember calling the free one that was on back of the phone book where the weather and joke numbers were.

No but I met Hacksaw Jim Duggan at Comiccon in NO last weekend. He was super nice and after talking to him a couple minutes and realizing this is still how he pays his bills I bought a $20 piece of 2x4 he was signing. I then hoisted it and he joined me in a HOOOOO! Embarrassing my wife and kid but made my day.

He has a few shoot interviews about his crazy road stories in Louisiana.

You can check em out on YouTube.

There used to be a free one ran by this dude Corey we used to call.

Yep in the new Orleans area. I can't remember if he was the first or second one to do it but it was 2 different guys as one quit doing it. Every once in a while he would go off on everyone leaving messages about him not updating enough. shite was funny.

I used to get all of the major diet like house match results and then tell my buddies. They were such marks.

Jim is a good dude. I met him last year and he signed a couple of pictures for me.

I couldn't get over how huge his hands were.

He told me how he lived in Alexandria during his mid south days with his wife and maybe Ted dibiase and a couple other wrestlers.

Alexandria was a hotbed of wrestlers back in the Mid South days. Sting and Ultimate Warrior lived there for a while too.

yep. "Hey Guys Corey here. Look I'm tired of people telling me what to do with my time... I update this as I can... "

He got to starting every message like that. Back when nWo was on top he had a lot of good info. We lost it when he said the Wolfpack was splitting from nWo. Fun times.
When WCW folded I stopped watching wrestling. It was fun when you had ECW, WCW and WWF. Then you had only WWF until TNA came out, but WWF while in many ways a better product, killed the fun of wrestling on TV for me.

A buddy of mine used to answer calls for a 1-900 wrestling hotline. Not sure if it's that one, though.

Look at who they were advertising to, kids. Kids must have parents permission. Charges will appear on parent's phone bill.

I never did call, but I did call one of those numbers in the gaming magazine for tips and tricks. Could not figure out where the 7th castle was in Legend of Zelda. Who woulda known to burn a bush?
