Did the nasty LSU lakes keep the white pelicans away this year?

I saw some in the forebay in Morganza but didn’t see any driving though Baton Rouge.

I was tailgating for the Mississippi State game last season in late October and a gigantic flock of them flew over. I have no idea how many of them there was but it lasted for minutes. It was one of the coolest animal things I’ve seen.

Saw them in the good lake a few days ago. The shite arse lake the interstate goes over is definitely a no go zone for the white pelicans this year.

It’s a little late for them so they are probably already gone. I haven’t been through Baton Rouge much. I was surprised to see them still hanging around the forebay.

They have been there for the past 3 weeks!
My daughter and I love seeing them every day on the way to and from school!

The smaller “lake” on the McKinley side of dalrymple was nearly filled with pelicans early this week. It was an awesome sight

I've seen people on here talk about dredging the lakes. Is that something that would conceivably ever happen?

I feel like there’s a St. George joke to be made somewhere in here

Walked the lakes Wednesday and there were still a ton at the bird sanctuary

Also that house on the giant lot finally sold. Think it’s been for sale since I was a freshman at LSU

The good news is that the mayor is using tax funds earmarked for the MoveBR traffic improvements to dredge the lakes.

I saw several large flocks around Golden Meadow Wednesday so they are most definitely down here. Now where they are hanging out I have no clue. LOL

I like Pelicans as much as anybody, but those pelicans at the Lakes will make you choke on the smell of their shite if you run the lakes.
