We still have three at work with 300k+ miles. Love those bastards.

X-Terra essentially took it's place.

Nope.

Xterras are no longer made (last model year in 2015). Pathfinders still around and went to the ugly crossover look in 2013.

I was in the market for a new SUV in 2013, but couldn't stand the new crossover look of Pathfinder. Via internet, my daughter found a never-bought 2011 model left over on a lot for me, which I wound up purchasing (and got a great deal on).

Still have it today; 5 years and over 100,000 miles later only issue other than regular tires/brake replacement was the window control switches in the driver door panel (easy self replace) and the radio controls on the steering wheel (not going to bother). Hope to keep it for a few more years with no note.

Aaaaand that's why they changed them.

eta: We test drove a new Pathfinder last year. I didn't care for it and was thrilled when my wife said she didn't either.

Very few SUV looking vehicle remaining. I actually think a boxy SUV would sell well, too bad Jeep won't bring back an updated Commander

Whenever I think of the Jeep Commander I think of General Foglesong (previous Mississippi State president). When he moved from Europe back to the US he bought one and I saw it all the time parked at Allen Hall.

So Jeep Commanders are what 4 star generals drive.

As a child of the 70s, there's nothing wrong with a good station wagon.

Yes! I had one like this, loved it:

I think my next purchase for a "nicer" trail ride is going to be:

The GX470s can be picked up for a great price.

Absolutely.

Different time though, people prefer different attributes

forgot how much the Pathfinder used to look like a Rodeo.

I had a 92 Rodeo, best rig I've ever had.

I was in love with those SUV's in the early 00's. I hope the reboot is worth it.

He better not be lying. I bought my 03 with 100k miles on it and put 240k more trouble free miles on it.

The xterra was underpowered, a gas hog, and rode terribly, but for sheer reliability, it made my wife's 4runner look like a Gremlin.

Not to mention, because it was high revving from the factory, you got the same MPG on 35s as you did on stock tires.

pre 2005 models they were anemic. but 2005 and newer they are strong as hell. doesn't ride* great, tho. solid rear axle. and bomb proof in the reliability department. i recently bought a jeep, but kept the xterra since i knew it will prob still outlast my new rig

Great threat OP!!!

The Pathfinder used to be one of coolest-looking cars on the road.

It has morphed into total garbage and Nissan should be forced to re-name it.

Such a shame.

Would still have it for a toy if an f250 didn't drive me into a tree in reverse.

I loved my Xterra. Looked great and drove really well for almost 10 years.

Took care of it and it lasted.

Damn shame they stopped making them. Had to be because of the shitty mileage- I was lucky to get 15 MPG

Totally agree with these sissy looking vehicles. Something has to be said for the 2006-2015 FJ Cruiser that never changed its appearance.

Good god man. I got 17 on those 35s with a winch bumper and armor

Almost 300k on it and we drove it to Moab, wheeled for 3 days, then drove to Oregon, down the coast, and home to louisiana

i share in dude's sentiment. i got about 15-17. but i didn't have armor or winch or any weighted aftermarket mods. that thing GUZZLED gas. always wanted to do moab. probably will one day when i finally replace the jeep i got and IT becomes my beater like my nissan is now. that shite looks like so much fun.

I have a 1993 that I hunt out of, that looks a lot like your top picture. It is light enough that it doesn't get stuck in the mud as easy as a full size truck. Mine has a welded rear end and lockers on front. A 2" lift and coop tires. Winch on the front.

It will go places my ranger wont. Air conditioning does not work anymore but everything else does. Its nice on a cold and rainy morning to not get soaked heading to my stand.

But yes the new ones are like a minivan.

I bought one for my wife in 2015. Its nice but its pretty much a grocery-getter. As I understand it they moved it from the Frontier truck chassis to the maxima car chassis.
