They originated hunting from helicopters.

Click the link or google Vore Buffalo Jump to learn about one way they killed them.
Vore Buffalo Jump in WY
The jump is next to I-90 in Wyoming about a mile from the Welcome Center on the east side of the state near South Dakota.

There is a theory that the Indians numbers were so many prior to white Europeans that they had almost hunted the buffalo out. When the very early explorers ( pre Columbus) brought disease over it decimated the indian population by what some estimate as 80-90%. That is when the buffalo were able to make a comeback and grow their herd numbers. The earliest explorers rarely ever document seeing buffalo.

Bruh you know Columbus never stepped foot on this continent right?
Yes he did.
A few voyages later and not in what's now the USA, but he did.
And the indians hunted buffalo on foot and killed them by getting them to stampede over cliffs... it's called a buffalo jump.

You know that at one time there were over 5 million of them running around back in the day and were dumb as a brick.

Hmmm, what continent are the West Indies considered to be a part of?

There's a fantastic Ken Burns documentary on Netflix called "The West". Gets into many of the topics discussed in this thread. Highly recommend!

Allegedly Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Great Lakes region
All the way up into Canada, about half way north all the way down to southern states including Louisiana.

With a big papoose
So I could get drunk on a buck and a half
And still have an excuse

humans are built for distance running, they can outrun just about any animal on the planet over long distances. Ancient people used to just chase prey until it got tired. We used to hunt Woolly Mammoths without horses, I think a buffalo can be hunted too.

I was wondering about something else. Did they have nothing but animal products for shelter and clothes? Did they ever sew anything before white guys brought over needles? I don't know, don't recall seeing paintings wearing anything but white boy shite.
the same way all sewing was done before the metal age: bone needles.

Here's an article about a "Mammoth Trap" that was just discovered in Mexico dating from about 15,000 years ago. The gist is that it's a 6' deep 25' wide pit. They chased mammoths into it then killed them when they were trapped. The 2 pits had bones from at least 14 mammoths and parts of camels and horses (there were horses and camels in NA prior to Europeans but they went extinct).

Not sure what you mean by buffalo country. There were herds migrating to south Louisiana every year along with the being in the Miss Delta and Alabama plains. Desoto made it all the way to Texas brush country.
Even Lewis & Clark didn't see buffalo in 1800. The great Buffalo hunts that almost took them to extinction the second time were in the 1870 and 80s.

If they did, it doesnt seem like it would be as easy as they made it look in Dances with Wovles, being on foot and all. Anyone know the skinny on this?
Early man was taking down Mammoths dumbass, so yea...they were capable.
