I run in Brooks and trail shoes are Merrills.

Merrills usually as well for casual shoes too.

I have a waterproof pair of Adidas lightweight waterproof hiking boots that I didn’t think I’d like as much as I do. They look lãmo but they’re comfortable and secure on the trail.

I thought those has soles that go into the bottom part. Didn’t think they were that thick.

They do look terrible. I am not sure if Skechers has entered that game but if they do I guarantee they will replace the Nike Monarchs as the go to shoe for Pops over 50.

Hokas are some ugly arse shoes. Swore I would never again wear Nike shoes. Started wearing Under Armour. Started having foot problems. Bought a pair of Nike Pegasus 39s I believe. Most comfortable show I've ever worn. Even the foot issues I was having has been cut by 75%.

I went to a store called Running Wild (basically like a local version of Fleet Feet) and they did all the analytics and measurements and stuff of my feet and gave me several recommendations, and those were the ones I liked the best, and I'm very happy with the purchase. Id never been to a store like that. It was a neat experience.

Hokas are like a 90's throwback for Boomers trying to relive their youth. It's the ultimate look at me shoe for old farts who want a little more panache than NB's.

The Cliftons are alright but the Bondis are terribly uncomfortable to me. I've been sticking with Brooks Ghosts even though their designs are kinda whack some years.

I have the New Balance Fresh Foams pictured here. Just got em a few months ago and they are life changers. Say what you want, but they practically eliminate the foot pain I had for years.

I think sketchers did first and when it didn’t succeed they did it again.

I get about 25k steps a day and they’re perfect for me. Waterproof too which is huge up here

Can’t imagine throwing a pair on to go to the grocery store, though

Depending on size of you want to get rid of them let me know. Most comfortable and easy on the feet of any shoe I have ever worn

I'll never understand the high stack height shoes. The further your foot is from the ground, the more unstable you become leading to possible injury. For walking or base effort running, a minimal shoe is the way to go. Only wear a shoe with a drop and stack height when racing on the street.

I see what you're saying, and I don't wear high cushion running shoes. Hiyeva, the drop does push you towards using your toes to land as opposed to your heel. I can get behind that.

I tried the Kawanas and they were too springy. I do like the Cliftons and the Carbons. I completely understand wanting a lower profile shoe like a Nike Pegasus, though. I can't stand how these models change every year. Stock up when there is version that you like.
