Well, i throw away a lot of stuff after I use it, but that doesn't make me think it's useless.

Some newfangled principle called disposability or something like that.

Yes, could we have the exact quote??????

I won't likely be able to find the exact quote and I did rewind it but he did NOT say "after you use it" to throw it in the trash. If that's what he meant he should have said that. I'm far from a dumbass as well as not super politically astute as some are here but I definitely understood him to say that personally if it were him he'd throw it in the trash.

He should have clarified "after you wear it" if that's what he meant. I hope someone can find it -- I'm off to help my son repaint his new home.

eta: if someone posts it and I was wrong, I will ask that this thread be deleted.

Out of vogue. It's all about reusables and sustainability today.

I didn't hear the quote, but is it possible he meant that when you're done with them, you can throw them in the regular garbage?

This. I'm no Cuomo fan, but maybe he was just talking about it being okay to dispose of them in the regular garbage when done using them. Why would he say they are being distributed to the public while also saying to throw them away?

I googled "Cuomo Hanes masks" and all that comes up is him talking about his order for all NY to now wear masks in public.

Cuomo is not well-liked in NYC (myself included) because he has a reputation for pitting himself against the city to play to his support across the entire state. So, it's hard to believe no one has picked this up if he really said this without extremely important context.

I mean Cuomo is getting grilled in a lot of local media for lagging behind the California and Washington governors in March distancing measures.

He changes the subject

He talks about masks
Then says Last Point, slide changes to Last Point
He then says this is his personal opinion, not a fact, just his opinion, you throw it in the garbage
His last point is about politics

You misunderstood. He was talking about his last point to not politicize the pandemic. He said you can throw his opinion in the trash.

Considering how much he’s already politicized this virus, it’s pretty much a trash statement.

I think he had obviously moved on to the last point about politics and said you could throw his personal opinion on that subject in the garbage.

All he said about the masks is:

1. He thanked the Federal government and Hanes for sending them

2.He said that they can distribute them to the public to help implement the policy that everyone wears a mask in public

I will take your word that you just misunderstood but, man, the amount of just completely false things people upvote and regurgitate on this forum is staggering.

He wasn't talking about the masks. He was talking about his personal opinion.

Cuomo focuses on facts during his briefings, but will often close with a section which he clearly says his is personal opinion.

I rewound and here's what he said...
Talking about 1.5 millions masks from Feds/Hanes... "This is going to be very helpful because we're going to have additional masks to distribute to the public."

Then he changes slides to one called Last Point, personal opinion and he says "Last point, personal opinion. This is not a fact, just my opinion. You can throw it in the garbage."

And then he goes on to talk about emotions in the country right now.

He's saying if you don't like his opinion, you can throw it in the garbage.
