Is it inedible or gross? No. I love a good diner burger when I'm hungover. But they did nothing you couldn't do easily.
I ate it occasionally with an old coworker. It was your typical smashed flat top burger on basic store bought burger buns with regular ole iceberg lettuce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, tomato, and pickles out of a jar.
I have no issue with a traditional diner burger, but it isn't some elaborate product worthy of the idiots on social media freaking out.
As I said in another thread, we don't know shite about what was going on. For all we know, Dearmans people could have been shitty tenants. Regardless, the building owner made a completely legal move that was spelled out in the contract that nobody was forced to sign. If he was trying to get them out of there since October, they shouldn't be shocked he used this clause to finally make it happen.
Risk you take when you rent.

The question I keep asking is what would have been more shitty?
Terminating after fire or not renewing in June after rebuilding the inside?
For the record, there is nothing special about the inside of the store. It could easily be replicated elsewhere if the following is as true as the outrage is large.

It was great when it was still a drug store and only had the lunch counter. After the original family sold it and it became just a burger joint, the new owners changed the burger and fries, it was pretty mehhh

I ate there regularly in the 80's and 90's when it was actually a drug store with a soda and grill. The burgers, fries, sodas, and shakes were great and I will always have fond memories of that place. The Dearmans of today was nothing like I remember. I went once after they re opened and never went back

You obviously do not drink or you would recognize the king of hangover burgers and fries.

We ate there about once a week. It's not far from my house and it was always easy to get in, get a burger and shake and get out.
My 4 year old son loved the shakes but didn't really care for anything else.
We tended to go there for the nostalgia, to support a local business and because the food was good (not spectacular).
The service left a bit to desire. Wasn't bad, necessarily, but wasn't what I'd call overly friendly or attentive. Also, I've witnessed the owner berate an employee or two on occasion. He never seemed happy or particularly friendly.
I'm sad to see it go, but in the end, it doesn't appear to be too big a loss to the BR dining community.
That's my 2 cent review.
